Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Psalm 119:142 ... Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Humans often think they are doing a "righteousness" in some good work.  It may be something learned in childhood as "righteous".  It may even be a type of self-righteousness.  I know a woman who is always doing some work that she considers good.  But when others fail to do the same work she becomes puffed up and angry with them.  God said to me this woman is "self" righteous.  She thinks herself to be doing righteous works and scorns others.  But her works are not of God but of her own learned traits.

But the righteousness of God is not like this.  It is a righteousness not just for this lifetime.  It is a righteousness for ever.

And the law of God is truth no matter how humans explain it away with reasonings.

For example:  Jesus said in Mt. 5:32 that the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.  This does not seem reasonable to humans so they explain away this word.  They use fleshly explanations to permit the divorced woman to remarry.  In the day of judgment, this will become real for all eternity.

Meditation examples

Meditation:  Pam Padgett

Proverbs 18:10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

The name of the Lord ... Jesus, is the Word.

strong:
- having power to move heavy weights or perform demanding tasks
- exerting great force
- able to withstand great force or pressure

tower:  a place of defense; a protection

safe:
- protected from, or not exposed to danger or risk; secure
- uninjured with no harm done

The word brought to me by the Holy Spirit has power and is sure.  It will accomplish exactly what God wants, shows the way of God for me in the situation, and is the safe and best way for me.

When recently dealing with roofer and insurance company, the word I heard from the Holy Spirit was to have roofer submit what was needed for a new roof and for me to send a letter to the insurance company.  This word had great power and led to protection for me, but not as I expected, for it caused the roofer to tell me to get another roofer.  The new roofer is not confrontational and does not bring evil talk as the previous roofer, protecting me from evil talk and being provoked.  And the new roofer provided exactly what the insurance company needed so the the entire claim for a new roof was approved in less than a week.

The haughty will fall

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

When I watch American football on TV, I will often see individual displaying an extreme haughtiness.  I often even say to myself, "He will be brought down."  or "that person should be brought down" ...

There is a scripture on this subject:

II Sam. 22:28  ... Thine eyes (God's eyes) are upon the haughty, that Thou mayest bring them down.

Some displays on TV are so abominable I can't stand to look and I just close my eyes until it passes.  And it will pass.  And the way of man in his pride will, as a vapor, pass away.  Often on TV when they are honoring a person and glorying over a person and tell that person's name I don't even know who that person was.  (often the person they honor is dead) ...

But the Word of the Lord will never pass away.  We honor the Word by doing the Word.  We glory in the Word.  We glory that Jesus gave His life ... no man took HIS life ... Jesus simply obeyed God and followed God even to death on the cross ... Then God exalted HIM ... We honor and glory in the Word of God.  It will endure forever, not just for this moment.

Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Psalm 33:4 ... For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

The word given us by the Spirit of God is always right ... no matter how impossible it seems to be.

Three years ago, I had an accident followed by a bad operation where bone shattered from hip to knee.  I was in rehab hospital for a month and couldn't walk and even when nurse set me up I could hardly sit up.  I didn't think I would ever walk again.  But one of our church group, Joseph Meriweather, had a dream from God.  In this dream I was walking and even walking without a cane or any other assistance.  That is exactly what happened though at the time it seemed impossible.

The word given by God is right.

Another example:  I was building house in Lubbock.  I had money from sale of previous house to pay for construction.  But construction went over budget.  I had dream where meteor was "standing" outside kitchen window of the house I was building.  It then lifted up in air above house and I expected it to explode and blow house away, but nothing happened.

And I was given the following scripture:  Isaiah 65 ... And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. 22They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.  23They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them. 24And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear

God made a way for me to pay the extra cost on the house and 10 years later I still live in this house.

The word given by God is right... and all his works are done in truth.

If hypocrisy or guile is involved, you do not have the wisdom from God.

James 3:17 ... But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

The world will view us as unsavoury

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

II Sam. 22 ... With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright. 27With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.

Those persons who are forward, stubbornly unruly, will view us as "unsavoury".

We will seem wrong to them when we go in the right way because they are so accustomed to going in the wrong way that the wrong way seems right to them.

Unsavory means:  disagreeable to taste, smell, or look at ... disagreeable and unpleasant

We who follow God will never seem "good" or "right" to those persons who are led by their own flesh and their own ideas. (As the reject the scriptures, they reject we who are born of the scriptures.)  Most church going people that I have met are led by their own flesh or by the flesh of the leaders of their church group.  Most are as blind to real things of God as are those people of the world.  They will never consider what we speak of God.  It reminds me of the following dream:  I checked into an hotel and was taken to my room.  I was shocked for the room had not been cleaned and it was unsuitable for me because it was dirty from the previous person.  I went to desk and told them and I expected them to clean it immediately.  But they did nothing at all.

Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Psalm 57:2 ... I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

First, God is "most high" ... able ... creator of heaven and earth ... what a small problem our problems are to God who created all ...

Eph. 3:20 ... Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us

Second, God performs all things for us, for the church. ... There are times we pray for God to perform things for us and there are times, such as the following, that I had a problem and was so frustrated I had no idea how the problem could be worked out but God knew and I believe God permitted this to be done on my behalf.

Here is the story:

A man sent by my sound guy was repositioning all my sound equipment and speakers to a component table under the TV.  He found the amp cables were not long enough.  We called a couple of businesses in Lubbock and found there was just no way to get these cables in Lubbock.  The installer was leaving Lubbock the following day and these were not cables I could install.  So we needed these cables immediately.  It seemed impossible.

Then the installer thought of calling David, my sound guy, and trying to get those cables sent overnight delivery.  Installer said he would wait until noon the next day to leave town if they could be sent overnight.

David called the manufacturer (in Massachusetts USA)   and they said they would make the cables for me that afternoon in order to get them in UPS overnight and they could get the cables delivered by noon the following day to Lubbock which is in the middle of nowhere in west Texas!

The manufacturer made the cables that afternoon ... finished in time to get the cables in UPS overnight ... The cables were delivered at 9:30 am following morning while we were having breakfast.  Installer finished the job with the new cables.

I still live in pony express days in my mind so I was amazed this could be done.

Even thought it seems humans did all this for me, I know it was God who equipped those humans with the ability to manufacture such an item and I know it was God who gave these people an heart to help me in this matter.  Can you imaging a manufacturing company who would make the item for the customer the afternoon the item was ordered?  That just seems like an impossible thing to ask.  Yet they did it.

Head covering for a woman according to Bible

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Some church groups require a woman to wear a hat or kerchief to church gatherings.

What is a "covering" for a woman?

Paul explains in I Cor. 11 ... But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. 4Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. 5But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. 6For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. 7For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. 8For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. 9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. 10For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.  11Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord. 12For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God. 13Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered? 14Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? 15But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering

We see in this scripture if a man has long hair it is a shame.  And if a woman has her head shorn it is a shame.

Also pay attention to vv. 9-10 ... Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. 10For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.

It seems important for the woman to honor the man, the creation by God of the man as "power", by having proper hair length and also there is some type of honor of the angels.

I am amazed at how so many older women have such short hair.  A teenaged girl so often does have long hair.  And when she marries, I have noticed, she is so often pictured with longer hair.  Then after marriage, that hair is so often shorter ... It is like a dishonoring of the husband in sight of God based on I Cor. 11.

And notice that Paul says it is against nature for the man to have long hair ... Inside men is the concept of men having shorter hair.  The majority of men still seem to have shorter hair.  By nature ... seems to be in them to do this as a majority.

Nevertheless, this is obviously an important issue to God for God had Paul write it in the Bible and that is what we go by.

Making God your strength and your power

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

We make God our strength and our power by daily reading the Bible and searching for verses that interest us for there is a special message for us in those verses.  We dig for that spiritual treasure by plowing through the scriptures until one catches out attention then we focus on that scripture, getting all that we can from that scripture, applying that scripture to our life that day and continuing to do that scripture.  This is eating the flesh of Jesus and drinking the blood of Jesus.

Jesus is THE WORD and things of Jesus are always attached to THE WORD.  You cannot separate Jesus from THE WORD.  Things of God are not an emotion or a feeling.  That is flesh.  For example:  some people will light a candle and feel good and think themselves to be doing something spiritual.  But there is no word telling us lighting a candle has anything to do with God.  So it can't be of God.  It is only of the flesh.  It has no real power.

In the 70's there was a song about tying a yellow ribbon around the old oak tree (I think that song had to do with soldiers returning from the Viet Nam war.) ... Even today some people do this when a child is abducted or when someone is killed.  It is all flesh and no power.  THERE IS NOTHING IN THE WORD OF GOD TELLING US TO DO SUCH A THING.  Therefore it is all flesh. Not of God.  No real power.  Things of God are power.

This week, my doorbell rang.  I was not expecting anyone to come to my house.  When I looked out I saw a Fed Ex truck.  I opened door and Fed Ex man was standing there with a package.  I hadn't ordered anything and had no idea what it could be.  Then he said it was for my neighbor and would I sign for it and accept it.  I replied, "No ... I can't do that."  I felt badly after saying that but then later I was reminded of the following scripture warning me about entanglements.

II Tim. 2:4 ... No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

If I had taken that package into my house, I would have been entangled.  It was too large for me to carry so I would have had to go to neighbors and they would have come to my house and they would have talked about worldly things which would have troubled me needlessly.

By rejecting the package, I avoided an entanglement of life.  So now I can proceed with what I do, reading Bible and exhorting church in writings, without being encumbered... keeping myself free to serve God according to my calling.

It is amazing how many entanglements there are daily ... We have to make deliberate choices as we go through the day... keeping ourselves free to nourish ourselves daily by searching for scripture that applies to us that day.

Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Psalm 119:105 ... Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Without light, without wisdom from God, we would be trying to walk about in darkness as the world does.  It reminds me of a problem I used to see at my previous house.  I had a glassed in back porch with a cat door.  My cat would go out in the yard, catch a bird, bring the bird in the porch area and turn the bird loose.  That poor bird would go crazy trying to get away.  It would fly in one wall and then another, then another.  When I saw it I would open the sliding glass doors and take a broom and try to shoo the bird out the open door so it could escape.

When we have the WORD of God, it is a lamp so we can see the path without stumbling about in the dark.

For example, here is an instruction from God delivered to us by the apostle Paul.

Phil. 2 ...  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But made himself of no reputation,

If you want to follow this "light", this lamp ... look up the word "reputation" ... then eliminate anything from your life that would give you reputation.

Life that is really death

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

On my birthday, worldly people surfaced.  They are taught to do something ... to send birthday cards ... to make phone call ... to do something!  And they did.  Unfortunately they are only led by their flesh and the worthless ways of their ancestors.  (The flesh profits nothing ... Jn. 6:63   Jesus said:  It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.)

I received a phone call from a woman from the little village where I lived as a child.  She and another woman there were born one month before me.  She always contacts me on birthday.  She is very concerned about me for I have no husband, no children, don't go any place, seem to her to be alone.  She is married and has 2 children and several grandchildren.  She is leader in her church group (Methodist), leading in community dinners and activities.  Leader in local affairs.  Leader in the local school activities, dinners and such.  She is very busy.  But she is as a person who is dead!  Everything she spoke to me was death.  (I begged God to restore me after she called.)  Of course, she does not know she is dead.  She thinks she is doing good works.  She is exactly like one of my cousins who only speaks secular things though she has been Church of Christ member all her life.  She, too is dead, speaking only things of relatives and such.  Speaking nothing at all of the Spirit of God.  Dead people are everywhere!  Though they think they have full lives, but their lives are full of death.

Jn. 6:53 ... Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

You can be a member of a church group and have no life in you.  You can do all manner of church works and have no life in you.

To have life, you must love THE WORD OF GOD.  You only have life when you eat the flesh of THE WORD and drink the blood of THE WORD.  This is the only way to life.

Most people are dead though they faithfully attend church services.  You could read the writings we do and be dead.

You must personally eat the Word of God and drink the blood of the Word of God and apply the Word of God to your own life.  You have to shop for your own food by reading the Bible and by meditating and apply specific scriptures to you life.  And each of us should do this every day of our lives.  For this is life to us.  We must shop for spiritual food in way we shop for natural food.  We go out to grocery and look for the food we want to eat that day and we prepare it and eat it.  If we failed to eat natural foods we would deteriorate and perish.

The same is true with spiritual food.  We will grow weak and sick and dead inside if we fail to hunt for the Word of God and eat the Word of God in a proper manner, applying such to our lives daily.

Paul explains in I Cor. 11 ... For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.  25After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.  27Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. 29For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.  30For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. 31For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 32But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

Paul is not speaking of eating crackers and drinking grape juice at church gatherings.  Paul is speaking of eating and drinking THE WORD OF GOD in a proper way.  This is THE LORD'S SUPPER.  Crackers and grape juice have no power to change you into the image of God.  You eat them and stay the same.  THE WORD OF GOD has power to change you into the image of God if you do it properly.  If you fail to handle the WORD OF GOD properly you bring "damnation" to yourself.  (v. 29)  You will not grow in the Lord without eating and drinking the WORD OF GOD in proper manner. You will simply grow weak and sickly as you read Bible unless you handle that which you read properly. (v. 30) And we need to do this every day, just as we pay attention to our natural food every day.  This is not something just for Sunday.

When Jesus taught his disciples to pray:  "Give us this day our daily bread." (Mt. 6)  Some people consider that physical food.  It is both physical and spiritual, but especially spiritual.

Jesus even said:  Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.  Jn. 6:27

It is a "labor" for spiritual food ... We must make time daily for Bible.  We calmly sit down with a good heart and look for scripture which attracts us that specific day.  We look deeply into that scripture which we find.  We then apply it to our life as best we can.  And we keep on doing it daily, "continuing" in His Word.  For then are we HIS disciples in deed.  Jn. 8:32

(Several years ago, when I moved to where my mother lived, I sent writings to this woman who called me on birthday.  She asked me not to send any more writings so I stopped sending them.)

Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Isaiah 40:31 ... But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

We who "wait upon the Lord", serving HIM, are listening for "HIS voice".  The world rushes about trying to make things happen.  We who are of God and keeping ourselves under control of God have another way to do things.  We are waiting for God to show us what to do rather than wearing ourselves out by trying to accomplish things by our own wisdom.  At least that is what we should be doing.  There are times we forget and start acting like the world but when we get at wits end we recognize our error and stop and turn to God.

When we do wait upon God it is like that eagle who effortlessly soars through the air.  We hear what to do, we act upon what we hear.  Hearing from God concerning the matter at hand is like that eagle waiting to catch the right current and then taking flight.  It is like the surfer waiting to catch the "right" wave.

Meditation examples

Meditation:  Pam Padgett

Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

God provides all I need ( food, clothing, wisdom, help, etc.) according to HIS riches. His provision for me is not dependent on my having stored up "enough" or anything I have done or could do.

God knows what I need now and in the future, and will supply what is needed.

Don't concern myself with what may be needed in the future.  Deal with today, focusing on what God speaks to me today, doing what I am led by the Holy Spirit to do today, thanking God for all HE has provided for me today.

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Life is in HIM, in Jesus, in THE WORD

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

This past week a woman called me and told me of the many activities of her life.  She is a Methodist.  She is always active in church dinners and community dinner.  She spoke of her admiration for a 91 year old woman who never misses an activity.  But all I could think of it how awful it would be to have to go to these secular things and chat about things that are going on.  I was so grateful I do not have to do this.  I am alone.  It seems I have no life, no activity.  But my life is very hidden from them.  I read Bible daily.  I look for scripture that attracts me and I spend time in that scripture, allowing myself to be taken various places in scripture as one scripture after another is called to my attention.  Sometimes several hours will pass before I have eaten the morning meal from the Bible.  I feel alive, strengthened, with real blood flowing through me.

So if you are of God and doing what I described be grateful you aren't having to go out to their many holiday activities for there is no life in such ... it is just flesh ... and their conversations often trouble us and drain us needlessly and then we have to be restored.

Here is the real life which is now and forever:

Jn. 6

v. 33 ,,, For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world

v. 35 ... I (The Word) am the bread of life: he that cometh to me (The Word) shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me (The Word) shall never thirst.

v. 48 ... I
(The Word) am that bread of life. 49Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. 50This (The Word) is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. 51I (The Word) am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread (The Word), he shall live for ever:

v. 53 ... Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

v. 58 ... This (The Word) is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread (The Word) shall live for ever.

When we sit down with the Bible and search for THE WORD which interests us at that moment and eat it to the fullest and apply it to our lives in a proper way, then we partake of LIFE today and that life continues forever.

Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

1 John 1:1-3 ... That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) 3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us:and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

John was with Jesus when Jesus appeared in the flesh on this present earth.

Yet what John wrote is our testimony also for we have seen Jesus, THE WORD, with spiritual eyes and we have handled Jesus, THE WORD, each time God has revealed THE WORD to us, and we have chosen to obey THE WORD.  And our fellowship is with HIM, with the Father, and with Jesus Christ, THE WORD, each time we choose to obey THE WORD given us.

When we sit down with Bible daily and eat that food we strengthen ourselves with HIM.

This is the living bread, the food for now and forever.  In HIM, in this bread, is life now and forever.

This is the time of year when people hurry about from one dinner to another and eat and drink and think it is important and think they do somethings special.  But this food and drink goes in one end and comes out the other end.  The food of Jesus, the Word of God, stays forever when we eat it.  It is not like natural food.

And if we should choose to gather in the celebrations with people of this world, don't we feel a little let down?  It never quite lives up to the hype that goes before it.  And we come away feeling a little dead ... no life ,.. for it is just of this world ...

But when we get into the Bible daily and read and think on various scriptures we feel built up in God.  This is life ... the other is only a form of death though it is very busy and active.  It promises so much but is really clouds without water and we end up feeling drained.  We do not feel life.  But when we get apart and go back to Bible and begin reading and being focusing on various scripture, blood flows back into us and we began feeling stronger again.

Meditation examples

Meditation:  Pam Padgett

Luke 6:47 (Jesus said) Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: 48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

dig:
- to break and turn up or remove
- to uncover and get
- to find out, as by careful study or investigation
- unearth

 foundation:
- the base on which something rests, specifically, the supporting part of a wall, house, etc.
- the fundamental principle on which something is founded

I dig deeply when prayerfully considering, studying, the scripture brought to my attention, seeking to find what God is saying to me in that scripture, and how to go according to it.

As I "dig" to understand what God is saying to me in a scripture, sometimes incorrect ideas or teachings are unearthed and need to be broken up and removed.  Like removing anything that is not pure rock foundation, these things have to be dealt with in order to build, be re-constructed, on the foundation of the Word of God in that area of my life.

When there is a need

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

An amazing story happened to me this past week when I ran into a "need" which had to be provided by noon the following day.

It seems to me to have been an "impossible" thing to be accomplished in such a short amount of time but when we have a "need" God sees that our need is fulfilled.

Phil. 4:19 ... My God will supply all your need.

I still live in pony express days in my mind so I was amazed this could be done.

(While it may look like humans provided these needs, God gave these humans an heart to help me all along the way.  And God placed those humans in my path who knew how to do this secular work.  These humans were made able by God ... and made willing by God...)

Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Jeremiah 17:5-8 ... Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. 6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

The people described in above scripture are exactly opposite.  One cannot see when good comes and the other cannot see when heat comes for he is fully equipped for the issue.

And the one cursed trusts in man.  His focus would be desiring reputation among men.  He would desire fame.  This is exactly opposite to what Paul told the church to do in Phil. 2 ... Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But made himself of no reputation,

No reputation:  not seeking to be highly thought of ... not seeking fame

The flesh desires to be highly thought of ... The flesh desires to be honored among men ...

The way of God is to "make" yourself of no reputation ... considering only God and what HE has told you.  When you do that men will hate you as they hated Jesus.

But while we observe the ways of God and do them, the world follows after reputation and riches. As a result when the downturn comes in economy they are caught in a trap of their own making and are overextended by their own desires feeling the heat of the economic downturn.  While we who observed the instruction of I Tim 6 to flee the love of money, lived another way and often did not feel the problem of the world when it came because we lived within our means not allowing our flesh to seek more.  This is just one example of the way men are cursed and thereby feel the heat and the way men are blessed and miss the worldly problem.

The "fear of the Lord" is to fear HIS word and thereby to obey His instructions, conforming our lives to HIS instructions while we live on this present earth.

The Bible is full of instructions from God.

Here is one instruction.

I Tim. 6 ... But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.  11But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 12Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

If we do this instruction, we will be blessed.  If we seek more money and live the way of this world, living beyond our means, always trying to get more, we will be cursed.

Meditation examples

Meditation:  Joan Boney

Prov. 4:1 ... Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding. 2For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.

Instruction means:
- direct or command someone to do something
- give a person direction, information, authorization

Attend to what God has said to you  in HIS Word by HIS Spirit

It is really important both to hear and to do ... Some people read Bible but fail to apply scripture to their own lives.  It is by applying scripture in a proper way that we are conformed to the image of Christ, to the image of what we in hear that word.

Attend means:
- deal with as instructed
- take proper action according to the Word
- apply one's mind and energies to doing the instruction

Prov. 4:2 ... For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.

- meditate in Word of God day and night

- Jn. 6:53 ... Jesus says ... Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

Meditating daily in Word of God is life to me ... fresh, needed blood ...

Jn. 6:57 ... he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

v. 58 ... This is that bread which came down from heaven:

- manna
- the Word God spoke to Moses & the prophets was bread
- Jesus in the flesh
- Bible
- Word spoken by Holy Spirit

Meditation:  Pam Padgett

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

be not dismayed; for I am thy God ...

dismay:
- anxiety, typically at something unexpected
- distress (implies mental or physical strain imposed by pain, trouble, worry, or the like)
- daunt (discourage, intimidate, dishearten)
- suggests fear or discouragement at the prospect of some difficulty or problem which one does not quite know how to resolve

Things are said and thoughts come that open the door for me to be anxious, worried, discouraged, intimidated, disheartened.  But instead of going in the ways of these things, I can turn to God with what was said or the thought.  HE is my God.

Something may be unexpected to me, but not to God who knows all things

I may not know what to do, but God knows exactly what (if anything) needs to be done in the matter

God has all power, is able to do whatever HE wills in the situation, is well-able to strengthen, help, and uphold me

God's wisdom vs. wisdom of the world

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Prov. 4:11 ... I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.

God's wisdom:  Phil. 2 ... Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant (to God), and was made in the likeness of men: 8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. (obedient unto God unto death)

This is completely opposite direction to wisdom of the people of this world who are led by their own fleshly desires.  Their desire is to exalt themselves above other people.  They exalt themselves by their physical appearance ... or by intellectual ability, ability to earn degrees ... or by various physical skills such as athletes.  They take pride in their own accomplishments.

But we are told to be like Christ, making ourselves of no reputation ... not trying to be something special in the eyes of other humans ... accepting the death of Christ and being crucified to this world through Christ ... being hidden from this world through Christ that we may later reign with Christ ...

Col. 3 ... If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.  3For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
5Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: 7In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
8But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. 9Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

As you can see from this, the wisdom of God is completely opposite from the wisdom of man.

God shows us to avoid fornication ... No place in New Testament where fornication is approved by God.

Adultery is not a way to a better life but a way of death as God teaches.

Pursuit of riches is dangerous and foolish.  We are told to flee from this pursuit.  I Tim.

Jesus says you can't serve God and mammon.  Mt. 6:24

All along we are shown in Bible the wisdom of God ... That wisdom is opposite from those things humans do to get ahead.  Often parents teach their children to get ahead by wisdom of man.  So sometimes we learn the wrong way at an early life.

But when God reveals Himself to us we begin to see another way, the wisdom of God.  And we give up the previous way in order to serve God in His wisdom.

Some people never see this and they stumble about in the darkness of humans and the way of life of humans.  Some think they do good only to find later their good was not good but only a way of getting ahead in the flesh.

Prov. 4:19 ... The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

Sometimes the people who think they are doing good are really doing wicked things because their works are not authored by God. (wicked means: those who are likely to do harm to another)  Often their "good" works are not good but rather do harm.  They do not turn man to God and the Word of God.  They teach man to enjoy his own flesh.

Jesus will turn these good working people away at the day of judgment.

Mt. 7 ... Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them,  I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

So when you do the wisdom of God you choose HIS wisdom in the matter at hand rather than wisdom of the flesh of man.

Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Jn. 10:7 ... Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you,  I (THE WORD) am the door of the sheep.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Jesus, THE WORD. is the door.

Door is defined as:  means of access, admission, or exit;  A means to a specified end.

A few weeks ago, a man came here to program my TV remote.  He told me he wanted to tell me what God was doing in his life.  He kept speaking of something big that had happened to him recently.  He was very emotional.  I listened carefully as he spoke of this great thing God was doing in his life.  But not once did he tell me a WORD God had said to him.  There was no instruction given him, no edification, it was just emotion without substance though he thought it substance.  I knew it was a "cloud without water", promising rain but doing nothing of value.

Jesus said:  Jn. 10 ... Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you,  I (THE WORD) am the door of the sheep. 8All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9I (THE WORD) am the door: by me (THE WORD) if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

A similar thing happened a few years ago.  A man in our church group told of this great meeting he had attended and how the Holy Spirit was so strong and how wonderful it was.  Finally, I asked him what about it was wonderful.  And he replied they had huge crosses covered with flowers at the front of the building.  NO POWER, just emotion.

Jn. 10:1 ... Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

Jesus, THE WORD, is the door.  Salvation from God comes by THE WORD.  Direction for our path in specific issues of this life comes by THE WORD given by the Holy Spirit as we focus on scripture or instruction called to our attention.

We search for the word as a man searches for great treasure.  It is important for each of us to learn to do this daily, for THE WORD is life.  And THE WORD is the way.

Jn. 14 ... And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6Jesus saith unto him, I (THE WORD) am the way,  the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

So daily, I take my Bible and look for that part of THE WORD that catches my attention and I focus on THAT WORD, considering how it applies to my own life.

In writing this today, I did exactly that.  The thing today that caught my attention was Jn. 10:7 ... Jesus said:  I am the door of the sheep.

Jesus is THE WORD.  THE WORD is the door for us.  We search daily for THE WORD that brings interest to us.  And when we find it, we stop and look closely at that portion of the word, eating and drinking the blood of Jesus by devouring that food.  We grow strong in the Lord this way.  It is important for each of us to search the Bible daily for our food for that day, unless the Holy Spirit just calls to our memory a scripture and then we stop and devour that scripture.

We must gather our spiritual food daily just as we would go out and get our physical food daily.  We must make an effort to find it.  And we must do it daily.

When in a weakened condition

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

For three days this week, my sound guy has been here at my house setting up a cabinet and checking cables and setting up the audio components to my system.  He is from out of town so he stayed at my house.  He arrived Tuesday afternoon and left Thursday afternoon.  He was in my house constantly.

This morning, I awoke in a weakened condition.  Even before getting out of bed I was praying, asking God to "restore" me, "restore my soul", set me back in the way of life I have daily with HIM.

Secular things are very difficult for me to endure.  People are very draining to me.

This scripture stood out to me and I knew it was the way to being restored.  Jesus said, I am the door,.

THE WORD is the door to being restored.  So all I have to do is get my coffee and sit down with my Bible and begin reading and search for scripture that stands out to me and when I find that scripture stop and focus on what God is saying to me.  If action is required, I apply that scripture in some way.  Or perhaps that scripture will just build my faith in God, then I just rest in that scripture.

But the way is THE WORD.  So all I need to do to be restored and strengthened is to get into my Bible!

Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Psalm 108:13 ... Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

No matter what the problem, God does valiantly ... (Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof... Mt. 6)

We find God works things out for us even when there seems to be no way possible ... God never fails though often we cannot see how anything can work.  We look back and see it did work and to our benefit.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  Romans 8:28

Here is another very comforting promise for us.

Isa. 54:17 ... No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Devils whisper various scriptures to us, trying to insert something that will confuse the body of Christ or mislead the body of Christ.  This has certainly happened to me from time to time.  But each time I go back and look closely at that scripture, God shows me HIS truth.  There have been many times I have heard in my mind a scripture only to find it is a "perversion" from the wrong spirit.

We have the examples in Mt. 4 and Lk 4 of the devil speaking scripture to Jesus.  But the devil didn't fool Jesus.  We see Jesus comparing scripture with scripture in these temptations.  Mt. 4 ... Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 2And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. 3And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. 5Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, 6And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written,  He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. 7Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.  8Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. 11Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

We also have Paul warning us that Satan appears as "an angel of light" (II Cor. 11) ... We can hear something and get so excited that God spoke something to us and it can seem like "light", like a "revelation",and we can be misled unless we are careful to read that scripture we heard and view it in context and let God prove it to us comparing scripture with scripture by the Spirit of God.

The flesh sometimes sides with Satan for the flesh wants to be special, to be great, to think he heard from God.

But we of the Spirit do hear from God.

So John wants us not to believe every spirit but to try the spirits to see whether they are from God. (I Jn. 4)

To me, the way to try the doctrine is to turn to God in prayer and look closely by the Spirit at the scripture involved.

Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

John 15:4 ... (Jesus said) Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

Exhortation:  (Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet)

Consider a branch on a tree.  As long as it receives nourishment by feeding off the tree roots, it remains healthy and it has green leaves.

But what happens when it no longer feeds from the tree?  What happens when it breaks off from the tree?

It withers and dies.

Some start the word of God and remain for a time but things of this present earth rise up and seem so important and they leave the word and live in the things of the world.  They dry up and wither and lose life.

Jesus explains:

Mk. 4 ... The sower soweth the word. 15And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. 16And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.  18And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, 19And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.  20And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

We feed off THE WORD, otherwise we dry up and die.

Secular things can seem very important to us ... we work toward getting them the way we want them ... then do they continue in that importance?  They are so temporary in importance.  But they can seem so important at the time.

THE WORD OF GOD is eternal in importance.

As my neighbor was dying, he looked at me and said:  "I've decided it doesn't matter who wins the super bowl."  (Some people in this world don't even know what the super bowl is!)

Meditation examples

Meditation:  Joan Boney

Col. 3:3 ... For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

The flesh wants to be noticed, to be singled out, to be important ... in one way or another.

I have noticed, when I go out among people, how unimportant I am to them.  They have no idea I am a carrier of great treasure being of God.  They see me as an old person who has nothing to contribute and therefore to be ignored when possible.

We, who are of God, are hidden from the world, much as the WORD is hidden from them.

We are, in fact, hid behind Christ, behind the Word ... almost invisible to the groups of people that gather in our neighborhoods.

We are dead ... and sometimes that odor of death comes off us to them ... and they pull back from us ...

II Cor. 2 ... Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. 15For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: 16To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? 17For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

The Word of God separates us from the world.  Because of the Word given us by God we do not fit in with the world.  We are going an opposite way from them.  We will never fit in because God has caused us by HIS Word to be a peculiar people to Himself.

We are dead to the world ... we are hidden from the world ...

hidden:
- kept out of sight
- concealed from the view or notice of others
- prevented from being seen

Col. 3:4 ... When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Therefore we "mortify" those sins of the flesh we once did ... we are dead...  We no longer live as those in the world as we did when we were of the world before the Word came to us.

Col. 3:9-10 ... ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

God reveals HIMSELF to us by THE WORD and this changes us into the image of HIM ...

We are then changed from the world ... we are dead to the world and alive to God ... so we will never fit in with the gang ... Things important to them are no longer important to us.  We might even be avoiding those things they desire to see.  (I rarely see a newscast and never see a newspaper ... They follow after such and are constantly stirred up and concerned over things they hear and see ... I know these are harmful and avoid such.)

The Word of God is important to me.  Keeping myself in the faith is important to me.  Building myself up in faith in God and what HE promises is important to me.

Most of the world doesn't even know the Word of God exists.  They live according to their own flesh and the desires of others.  We are certainly dead to them.

I Jn. 5 ... And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. 20And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. 21Little children, keep yourselves from idols.

===============Meditation:  Pam Padgett

Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

I have been risen with Christ, my life is no longer of this world ... no longer have to serve sin, the flesh, fears, dead works ... no longer have to do things according to the ways of this world … alive and freed to serve God.

seek those things which are above
seek: attempt to find, desire to obtain, ask for, search for .....

God's word to me
what does God want me to do in each matter
provision that God provides
God's mercy
wisdom from God
help from God
God's direction and guidance in what I'm dealing with

These are things to think about and focus on, setting my affection on (want to influence and affect me), not things and wisdom of this world

Sign of the last days

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

This week my contractor came over to get some things ready for the sound guy to move sound equipment to the middle of the room.  One of the things needed was a cut out in sheet rock to allow power cords to be moved to the electrical outlet under the TV.

My contractor knew in advance what we were doing but he brought the wrong saw.  He said he would have been able to make the hole look much better had he brought a jigsaw.  He obviously didn't care enough to go back and get the right saw.  Then he did something else and I had to stop him and have him do it another way where it would not be visible from the room.  He put some boards back in an area and one board was sticking out strangely.  I knew I could fix it myself so I said nothing.  When I went to put it in correctly I had to remove several boards because contractor failed to put the right size boards in proper order.  I was so shocked.  I saw immediately a change had come to this man.  He just didn't care.

I ran into exactly the same things a few weeks prior to this is trying to get my remote for TV programmed for sound system.  I had worked many times in the past years with the man who came to do the programming.  But this time it was obvious to me that this man just didn't care about the job.

Twice men who have been very competent in past show a change where they just don't care and do poor work.

I knew this was very important but I didn't know what I was seeing.

This morning I read the blog and when I got to the writing where I spoke of violence, I saw it immediately.  This not caring about others and caring only about yourself is the definition God had given me of violence.

Here is a reprint of that previous writing:

this concerns the subject of violence.

We think of violence as someone doing bodily harm to another person or object.

God defined to me violence as follows:  "one who tries to get what he wants without regard for what it does to others".

In the days of Noah, violence was everywhere.  Gen. 6 ... The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. 12And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
13And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

Paul said, in the last days, perilous times would come because men would be "lovers of themselves". II Tim. 3:2  They would care about themselves rather than caring about others.  This is the essence of "violence".

Pam saw the same thing this year when she was trying to get a roof fixed after hail damage.  She had a roofer who had worked for her in past.  So she called him.  The insurance company required a paper to be filed by roofer but roofer didn't want to file the paper.  Finally roofer told Pam just to get another roofer.  He just didn't care about the work.

Sounds strange to think this type of thing is "violence" ... but I see that it is what God was speaking about when HE said perilous times would come in the last days.  It is very shocking to see a man who had done good work turn into a man who doesn't care about his work.  It is sad and can probably bring us down a little unless we turn to God.  It is prelude to destruction, certainly personal destruction for the man who fails to care about his work ... but also this caring only about yourself is a forerunner of end time destruction.

Mt. 24 ... Jesus speaking of the end times ... And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Romans 8:38-39 ... For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Exhortation:  (Joan Boney,.. apostle/prophet)

The love of God is in THE WORD ... Mercy, wisdom, counsel, truth ... everything is in THE WORD and God's love is manifest to us as HE gives us THE WORD.

The world is not given THE WORD as we are.  We are separated from the world by THE WORD given us by God.  Aren't we different from the world?  Do we fit into the world?  Do we do as the people of the world do? Do we think as they do?  Perhaps we once did as they do.  But when God spoke THE WORD to us it separated us from them.  We no longer fit in.  We are no longer one of the gang.  And even if we should try to be one of the gang for a season, it won't work, for God has made us into a different creature by HIS WORD.  We are not as we once were.  Now we serve HIM and show HIS glory rather than glorifying man as the people of the world love to do.  And the world will hate and despise that.  But the suffering we go through because of THE WORD is a "light" matter as Paul says ... For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.  Romans 8:18

II Cor. 5:17 ... Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Where we once served our flesh and sought things of this world, now we are freed from our flesh that we might serve God and seek things "above" where Christ sits at the right hand of God.

We are transformed into HIS kingdom day by day by HIS Word which sets us apart from the world.

We are warned by the Holy Spirit Who dwells in us to show us the way of God.  While the world follows after money and reputation of men, we are shown the way of God which is opposite to the seeking of the people of this world.

I Tim.

Phil. 2 ... Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.  9Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

We, who have been taught by God, see another way to go and we choose that way.  The WORD causes us to be different and separate from the way of this world.

Meditation examples

Meditation:  Joan Boney

I Tim. 6 ...

But godliness with contentment is great gain.

content:  not wanting more or something different

Sometimes  we have to make repairs.  But to imagine something different and to embark upon various projects can really bring a lot of unnecessary trouble upon yourself.  Often people try to justify these changes.  But they put themselves through additional stress, usually without cause.  And usually they bring trouble to others around them because of these projects.

We when focus on this present world and the things of this present world, we stir up our flesh.  (The flesh profits nothing.)  We are exhorted as follows:  Col.

When we belong to God we are "dead" to this world and its many desires and cravings.  We are raised with Christ instead and our life is no longer in what we can accomplish on this earth nor on things we can possess on this earth.  Now our life is hidden with Christ.  When HE appears then our life will appear also.  Right now we look "dead" to the people of this world when they view us for we don't seem to be worth much if anything.  We aren't accomplishing anything.  We just sit there, so they think.  I know I look dead to those people who view me.  I look like an old person who does nothing at all worthwhile.  They see me as dead because that is what I show them.  My life is not in people and things and achievements of this world.  I am dead with Christ, crucified with Christ, raised with Christ.  This world and all its things and accomplishments will pass away.  My inheritance is forever.  And when HE appears, my life with appear.  But I have no life on this present earth.  I desire no life here.

I Tim. 6

Things shown me by God

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Recently at my house a water line to one of the commodes came loose and flooded a closet and came about 2 ft into the adjacent room.  I called insurance and he said he would have a "water extraction" company call me.  My deductible is so high he was sure I would have to pay for all of the service required.

They came and set up big fans which were terribly noisy.  I called insurance man and asked if I could just remove the fans and allow the carpet to dry out naturally.  But insurance man reminded me of the problem of black mold which caused some building in Lubbock to have to be torn down.  He said this extraction company would dry the walls and test to be sure I didn't not risk black mold.  Therefore I needed to use the fans and allow the process to take place.

They no longer insure against black mold in Texas.  So if that happened your house would have to be torn down and you would be left with a vacant lot!

This showed me how quickly these material things that we think are of value can be ripped away.

We think we don't trust in material things because we have material things.  But in the back of our mind we do think about having that object to fall back on in emergency.  Yet in reality what we have is God.  So we reposition our thinking when confronted with these secular things.

Another thing God showed me ...  this concerns the subject of violence.

Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Matthew 24:35 ... Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Exhortation:  (Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet)

In the beginning was THE WORD ... in the end remains THE WORD ...

How can anything be more important than THE WORD?

Meditation examples

Meditating in the Word of God:  Each morning, I take my Bible and read scripture until I find a verse that "interests" me.  Then I take that verse and "eat" it, applying it to my life, thinking about what I am being told by that word, making appropriate changes to fit that word.  We go out and shop for natural food.  This is the way we shop for spiritual food.  We need to to this daily to be nourished and grow in things of God.  And we must apply the Word daily in a proper way to our own lives.  When we do this we grow in the Lord, THE WORD.    If we fail to do this we become weak and sickly and some even die.  (I Cor. 11)  If you failed to find and eat and digest your natural food bad things would happen to your physical body.  So it is with our spiritual body.  Joan Boney

Meditation:  Joan Boney

Psalm 149:2 ... Let Israel rejoice in HIM that made him ...

THE WORD created me.  When HE first spoke to me, I was "born again", changed.  That was 30+ years ago.  Since that time I have been changed over and over by THE WORD, being conformed into the image of THE WORD as I do what HE says to do.

THE WORD separates me from the people of the world, making me different from them.  Because of THE WORD, I am "sanctified", separated to God.  Therefore I am no longer like the people of the world.

At one point, I played bridge.  After quitting bridge, I was very different from the way I had once been.  God planted something inside me.  It was a concept I had never had before.  I no longer tried to find something to go to or to be a part of in Lubbock where I live.  I knew there was nothing for me in this present world.  I didn't even try to find an activitity.  I just stayed home and waited, reading Bible, talking to God, reading my secular books, watching TV ... but I didn't look in newspapers as I once did trying to find something of interest to attend.  I knew there was nothing our there for me.  And at this time, I saw a scripture and I did what I could do to conform my ways to this scripture:  Phil. 2 ... Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But made himself of no reputation,   I eliminated everything that could make me of "reputation" among men.  I didn't go out of my house except to get natural food and for things like dental cleaning appointments.  One could say I was "fasting", though it was not a fast of physical foods but a fast of things that puff me up.  After 7 months, God gave me a dream showing me to go in Internet and do these writings which I did and have done daily since that time at the end of March, 2012.

rejoice in HIM that made him ...

THE WORD made me.  THE WORD CAME TO ME AND CREATED ME AND BROUGHT ME TO HIS WAY and separated me from the way of man.

Rejoice ... THE WORD frees me from sin ... no longer have to serve my flesh as I once did

Rejoice ... THE WORD frees me from bondage ... from doctrines set up by man

Psa. 86:9 ... All nations whom thou hast made (all people created by THE WORD) shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name. (THE WORD)

Meditation:  Pam Padgett

Proverbs 14:15 The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

The simple believe "every word" ... words are spoken directly by people, on tv, in what I read, etc. ... as well as thoughts that come to mind

prudent:
- capable of exercising sound judgment
- cautious or discreet in conduct
- circumspect (careful to consider all related circumstances before acting, judging, deciding)
- not rash
- careful

The prudent carefully considers what he hears.  Is not rash.  Doesn't act on what is said without carefully considering it.

Be careful with what I hear and take into my heart and act on ...  is it true?    is this what God wants me to do?    is the thought from the Holy Spirit or from another spirit?

Important to be diligent to turn to God and allow HIM to show me the truth about what is said and thoughts brought to my mind.

1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Mansions in heaven

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Jesus said ... Jn. 14 ... Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

A mansion is something very great ... more than we can imagine.  I have had several dreams concerning this.  In one dream, I was taken to "my" house.  It was very large with very tall ceilings.  It had spectacular carved works on the walls.  The floor was something like marble inlayed with gold lines  Ant there seemed to be no end to rooms.  There were many rooms I didn't know were there.  They were revealed to me one by one.  It never seemed to end.

Jesus goes to prepare a place for us.  It will not disappoint us.  Jesus knows everything about each of us.  The place will be wonderful, more than any one of us can imagine.  And it will be a mansion.  And Jesus will come get us.  And we will be with HIM forever.  (I Thess. 4)

And what I really like is we will not be inside of these present physical bodies!  We will be given a new body.  It will be as God wills but I'm sure it will not get sick, there will be no pain, there will never be a diminishing, no old age ... and it will be forever.  (And I don't think we will have to wash our hair or take a shower and we won't have to clean our clothes and such!).

Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Psalm 90:2 ... Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

Exhortation:  (Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet)

Jn. 1 ... In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

Everything was created by THE WORD.  Here is an important truth:  Heb. 11:3... Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

There was nothing before God and THE WORD ... There was no material from which the heaven and earth were created.  God spoke and it was created by THE WORD.

Then Jesus, THE WORD, came in the flesh.

Jn. 1:14 ... And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,

The name of Jesus is THE WORD.

THE WORD holds everything together in place until the end.

II Peter 3 ... by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:  6Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Jesus THE WORD ... THE WORD, Jesus ...

When I read Bible and see the name Jesus written in New Testament, I immediately translate it as THE WORD.

Jesus came to earth in the flesh but to me HE is far more than this bodily form that spent a brief time on this earth in the form of a human.  Jesus WAS before the creation of the earth.  By HIM, THE WORD, everything was created.

Genesis 1 ... In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Meditation examples

Meditation:  Joan Boney

Psa. 148:13 ... Let them praise the name of the LORD:  for HIS name alone is excellent.

HIS name is THE WORD.

Flesh wants to exalt flesh.  Flesh wants to point out men on this earth who appear great in some field.  But it is JESUS, THE WORD WHO is great!  HIS name alone is excellent.

Psa. 119:81 ... I hope in THY WORD

Buried with HIM through baptism.  Raised with HIM through the power of God.

Separated to God by THE WORD.

Dead to the world ... alive to God ... completely different as result of THE WORD.

Jn. 17 ... Jesus praying to God ... Sanctify them through they truth.  THY WORD is truth.

sanctify means: set apart ...

John told us:  The whole world lies in wickedness.  I Jn. 5

The reason I am different from the people of the world is God chose me and set me apart by HIS Word and this caused a division between me and the people of the world.  The people of the world go the way of their own thinking.  I have The Word which shows me another way and that is the way I go.  This separates me, sanctifies me to God.  I am sanctified (set apart) by that word given me by God on the matter at hand.

Jesus said:  Lk. 12 ... Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: 52For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. 53The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

When the Word came it brought division.  The one who received The Word was no longer like the others who had not The Word.  Thus the one who received The Word was divided from the others.

Meditation:  Pam Padgett

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

seems:  appears to be, have the look of being
right:  what is good, proper, correct

What may look good, proper, or correct to me, may not be the way of God in the situation.  God's ways are not man's ways.  And God knows everything about the situation, including what the future holds.

I have a college degree to do counseling psychology.  This seemed like a "good" thing to do at the time.  But I hated it.  Was a way of death for me and I quit very quickly.  Later I did secretarial work, but was very bored doing it.  After turning strongly to God with how bored I was, I had an opportunity to take a class that turned out to be a programming class.  Programming was a perfect "fit" for me.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

 trust:
- relay or depend on
- commit to care of
- put confidently in the charge of

Turn to God (acknowledge God) ... wait to be shown what, if anything, to do (trusting in God) ... go in the way I'm shown (allow God to direct my paths)
