We who are of God have the Spirit of God to convince us of sin. We are not blind to sin as the world is blind to sin. The people of the world say, "I did no wrong." These people are blind concerning wrong doing for they do not have the Spirit of God to show them their sin that they might be saved. We see sin and evil because of the Spirit of God Who dwells in us.
We remember the past, the time before we had the Spirit of God, when we served our own desires and the desires of man. We know that did not profit us.
Now we are servants of God and not servants of our own flesh nor servants of other humans.
Now we are free from sin so that we can be servants of God.
We choose that way rather than the way of the past. The past has no power over us when we belong to God. The whole purpose of belonging to God is to be free to serve God.
