Obedience unto righteousness

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Romans 6:16 ... Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

When the Holy Spirit illuminates to us a word from God and we do everything in our lives that we can see to do to obey that word brought by the Holy Spirit we are practicing "obedience" unto righteousness.  In such cases when the word is from the Holy Spirit, to obey that word in a correct manner brings us into a type of righteousness in the sight of God.  This also conforms us into the image of Christ.

But we must deal with the word in an appropriate manner.  To simply hear the word and fail to apply it correctly to our lives will avail nothing and even brings destruction ... I Cor. 11 ... For he that eateth and drinketh (the word of God) unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.  30For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. 31For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. (We judge ourselves by the word brought by the Spirit of God, making appropriate changes to our lives according to that word.)

But when man brings us a scripture by his own thinking and not by the Spirit of God, we can try to obey it but that does not work.  It is about like making New Year's Resolutions which last only a short time and then fade away.

When the word is brought by the Holy Spirit and we think on that word and obey it from the heart, it is the power of God in our lives.

Recently I received email from a woman who said devils were tormenting her and she needed help.  I told her to read Booklet #2:  Dealing with Destructive Thoughts ... and to do what it said to do.

None of us are immune from devils tormenting us from time to time.  We have to deal with these thoughts in a spiritual way.  This is what is explained in Booklet #2.

Paul said:  Having done all to stand, stand.  Eph. 6

Recently I went through a very harsh attack from a couple of "pastors".  I prayed over what they said.  I waited on God.  And then I just began saying over and over, "Praise God.  Thank you for my salvation."  "Praise God.  Thank you for my salvation."  "Praise God.  Thank you for my salvation."  As I was saying those words, I began thinking of Jesus paying for my salvation.  I began thinking of various things God did for me along the way.  I thought of how clearly and dramatically I was chosen by God for this work.  And the attack of thoughts subsided.

One of the parts of the armor of God is "salvation".  I think by saying what I said and by thinking on these things I was putting on salvation as part of the armor, guarding my mind.

Eph. 6 ... Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.    13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
