Dead to this world

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

At one time this world was our life.  We fought to achieve.  We desired praise from men.  We did everything we could to rise to the top in our areas.

After we were chosen by God and became HIS "child", we became dead to this world and alive to God.  Everything changed for us.  And we started going in a way of God which is exactly opposite to the way of the world where we once went.

The whole symbol of being baptized is identification with Christ's death and resurrection.  And like Christ, we become dead to this world and risen with Christ so that we no longer serve ourselves as we once did but now we are dead to the world and free to serve God.

Romans 6 ... Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?  4Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7For he that is dead is freed from sin.

... Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God

... But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

In the past we served sin pleasing our own selves.  But now we reject sin and serve God.
