Joshua 1:8-9
... This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou
shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do
according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy
way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. 9 Have not I
commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither
be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou
goest.
Exhortation: (Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet)
In the above statement, God asks the remarkable question: "Have not I commanded thee?"
Joshua had a specific assignment from God. And Joshua knew his assignment.
It is so important for each of us to know our assignment from God. What has God assigned you? What is your place in the body of Christ?
Paul said the body of Christ is like a human body. There are many members of the human body. The eye does not try to be the foot. The eye knows it's function and operates in it's assigned place.
The sun and the moon have assignments from God and they operate in their specific assignments. They have different characteristics. The only thing that matters is they do not try to function in a position different from their assignment.
Do you know your assignment from God? Or are you trying to copy another person. (That will never work.)
When you know your assignment and hear what to do it is such comfort for then when things get really trying you can always return to the full knowledge that it was God who gave you that assignment. And the above scripture tells us how to have the strength to fulfill the assignment. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou
shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do
according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy
way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
As we meditate continually, day and night, in the Bible, our eyes are opened by God to specific scripture and as we do that scripture we end up getting exactly where God wants us.
Several years ago, God said to me: "One step at a time ... it is enough."
We read the Bible and take the step we see to do by the Word of God and we end up tomorrow where we should be without having to think about it or plan for tomorrow.
Another word God gave me several years ago is the following: "Turn as the path turns."
The word of God causes the path to turn in that we see some way to go and we make a change from the way we were going.
It is so simple. Read the Bible. Meditate in that which God is saying through the Bible. Make adjustments to your life as a result. You will then be where you are supposed to be tomorrow. And you will free yourselves from many things which hinder you.
