What is the fear of the Lord?
The "fear of the Lord" is a respect for the word spoken by God. When you have a respect for the word spoken by God you are "afraid" to do anything other than that word spoken by God. You have an understanding that God is authority over you and HIS word reigns over you and it would be very foolish to go any direction other than the way shown by HIS word.
This is the fear of the Lord.
Example: Paul said ... Phil. 2 ... Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But made himself of no reputation,
If you have a fear of the Lord, then you will look at this instruction and realize it is inspired by God and is the way of God for us to go on this earth.
You will restructure your life. You will give up trying to make a reputation among men. You will stop trying to exalt yourself among other humans. You will stop doing anything that causes you to achieve personally and you will focus on one thing only ... "God, what do you want me to do."
