Walking in integrity

Pam Padgett ... teacher

Psalm 26:11 But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.

integrity -  the state or condition of being whole, undivided, and unified; complete; quality of being honest, sincere, and having strong moral principles

It especially stood out to me that when we have integrity we're undivided, holding to what we believe, regardless of what others may think.  When we try to please others,  there is a temptation to compromise in some way.  When we're undivided in our thinking and desires, holding to what God has taught us and put in our hearts, the qualities of honesty, sincerity, and being strong in moral principles follow.

Jesus taught us the following ...

Matthew 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. 23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

Matthew 6:24  No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

When we walk in integrity, we hold fast to what is right in the sight of God, without wavering or compromise ... seeking to serve only God.
