Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
The Bible is the example for
the New Testament Church. By the Holy Scriptures we know the pattern
for us to live on this present earth.
There is no place in the Bible where a man called himself "Reverend".
The ministers in the New Testament called themselves by the ministry offices to which they are appointed by God: apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, teacher ... Eph. 4:11
Paul identified himself as "apostle/teacher" ... In his various letters to the churches we see this.
...
Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God,
and Sosthenes our brother, 2Unto the church of God which is at Corinth,
to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with
all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord,
both theirs and ours. I Cor. 1 (We see the same thing in verse 1 of Romans, II Cor, Galatians, Ephesians, Colosians, I Timothy, II Timothy, Titus)
Peter did same thing.
Peter:
...
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered
throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, 2Elect
according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification
of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus
Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. I Peter 1
...
Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that
have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of
God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: II Peter 1
-----------------------
The ministers of God in the Bible called themselves apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, teacher
(Eph 4).
This is proper for a minister in the New Testament church today.
Also we see the following:
Jesus said ...
The scribes and the
Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: 3All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe,
that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
4For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s
shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their
fingers.
5But all their works they do for to be seen of
men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their
garments, 6And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the
synagogues, 7And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi,
Rabbi.
8But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your
Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
9And call
no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in
heaven.
10Neither be ye called masters: for one is your
Master, even Christ. 11But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
12And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble
himself shall be exalted. Mt.
