When the son of Jeroboam, king of Israel, became sick, Jeroboam sent his
wife to Ahijah the prophet, but told her to disguise herself so it
wouldn't be known that she was his wife. Ahijah was blind and
Jeroboam's wife disguised, yet God made known the entire matter to
Ahijah ... who she was, what she was coming for, and that she was
disguised.
1 Kings 14:4 And Jeroboam's wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh,
and came to the house of Ahijah. But Ahijah could not see; for his eyes
were set by reason of his age. 5 And the LORD said unto Ahijah, Behold,
the wife of Jeroboam cometh to ask a thing of thee for her son; for he
is sick: thus and thus shalt thou say unto her: for it shall be, when
she cometh in, that she shall feign herself to be another woman.
We cannot hide anything from God, nor can we deceive Him. God sees the truth about us and about each matter.
Psalm 139:11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the
night shall be light about me. 12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from
thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are
both alike to thee.
Hebrews 4:13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his
sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with
whom we have to do.
As soon as Jeroboam's wife came to the door, Ahijah brought light
to the situation, not allowing the deception to come forth at all, and
letting her know immediately that he had heavy tidings for her ...
1 Kings 14:6 And it was so, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as
she came in at the door, that he said, Come in, thou wife of Jeroboam;
why feignest thou thyself to be another? for I am sent to thee with
heavy tidings.
Ahijah didn't try to "soften" what God had told him about the matter, as
the flesh wants to do. He spoke in a straightforward manner what God
had told him, bringing forth truth clearly and simply. I was reminded of the
following ...
1 John 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him,
and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at
all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness,
we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is
in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of
Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Here is another example from New Testament where people tried to deceive God with dire consequences.
But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, 2And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet. 3But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? 4Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. 5And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things. 6And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.
And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in. 8And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much. 9Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out. 10Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband. 11And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.
