Spiritual warfare

Renee Bonfield

I have been going through a terrible time lately. I haven't been able to read the Bible. My appetite has been very bad.  I could barely function. I could still read the blog which I enjoy very much each day, but I just wasn't able to read the Bible. Thoughts would come to me that this was a punishment from God. All I could do was get into bed and ask God to help me. Having very little energy I went to my doctor who gave me a B-12 shot. This didn't help me either.
Then I realized that this is "spiritual warfare." I was also given the following scripture: I Cor. 11:30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
Then early yesterday morning The following scripture came to me: Phil. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ (The Word) which strengtheneth me. This scripture helped me so much, and I've been rejoicing in the LORD ever since.
Late last night the following came to me: Ye are of God,little children, and have overcome them: because greater is HE that is in you, than he that is in the earth.  I Jn. 4

The devil will devour us if we allow him to do so.
I Peter 5 ... 8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

10But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
We must focus on the truth  (what God says) day and night to overcome.  We must believe what God says.

Hi Renee:

Yes you can read the Bible.

Start at Mt. 1 verse 1 ... read that verse ... stop and think about what that verse is saying ... if you choose to stop there, stop there until the next time you read.  If you want to read a few more verses, read until you want to stop and then stop.

Mark the place where you stop.

The next day ... or that afternoon or evening, start reading Bible at the mark where you stopped reading.  Read one verse, ... or two verses ... or three if it suits you ... or as many verses as suits you but at least one verse.

Stop, mark the place ...

Keep this up ...

Make it your goal to read the New Testament ... one verse at a time ... or more verses but at least one verse.

This will work.

Love, Joan
