Several years ago my younger sister had long hair but decided she
wanted to cut it short. Her husband, however, strongly disagreed with
this and they argued. Their grade school age daughter was obviously
disturbed by the arguing and looked for a way to stop it. At one point
she told her dad that she would leave her hair long and her mom (my
sister) could cut her hair.
1 Corinthians 11:13 Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a
woman pray unto God uncovered? 14 Doth not even nature itself teach you,
that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? 15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
To the natural mind hair length seems to be a personal preference.
But we know by scripture that it is a shame for a man to have long hair,
but a glory to a woman to have long hair.

Being reminded of what my sister did in this, it also stood out to me that her
husband had not wanted her to do something evil. What he wanted is even in line
with 1 Cor. 11, although I'm sure he didn't know this. (Although he didn't know scripture, this is taught even by nature ... even nature itself teach you) . Yet my sister
did not want to leave her hair long in order to obey and please her husband. Her wilfulness brought much trouble to her entire family. Eventually my sister and her husband divorced.
Titus 2:4 That they may teach the young women
to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 To be
discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands,
that the word of God be not blasphemed.
