When God ordains the matter

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

I was re-reading Joshua 1 and the following caught my attention:

Joshua 1 ... Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying, 2Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel. 3Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. 4From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.

Three tribes Israel took their possession on the east side of Jordan and the remaining tribes took the land on the west side of Jordan.  But the men who were taking their possession of the east side went with the other men and fought for their possession and then later returned to their lands on the east side.

I thought of the faithfulness of God to do what HE says HE will do.  I even looked at today's atlas at the land of Israel and the boundaries.

That which God ordains happens.

God set the possession and gave them the possession, but they had to go out and take it.

In the NT church, there is set for us a possession of a place of "rest" ... even in the troubles of this world.

Rest is our possession.  But we have to enter in and take it.

Heb. 3 .... For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; 15While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. 16For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. 17But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? 18And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? 19So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

They did not consider God able to do that which HE said HE would do.

For us, we take this position of rest as Paul said to do ... Phil. 4 ... Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

If we have anything at all troubling us, we are told to take that matter to God in prayer and let our requests be made known unto God ... Then comes the peace of God.  Do we enter into HIS rest this way?  Do we believe?  If we believe, do we actually do this?  If there is any thing at all troubling you at this moment, then you have not done this and you have not entered into HIS rest.  Why not?  Is it unbelief?

We often have to work at our faith in God ... We see the promises of God in Bible.  We see how God helped HIS people.  We build our faith in God by renewing our minds to scripture.  We pray to God for help. We grab the Word of God and hold on...

Heb. 4 ... Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.   3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. 5And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. 6Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:  7Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. 8For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.  9There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.  10For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief

We have so many magnificent examples in Bible of God performing mighty works on behalf of HIS people.

And we, as individuals, have examples of God performing might works on our behalf.

We just fill our minds with these things and think on them.
