Man thinks he has to learn to be godly.
But the truth is God gives HIS chosen a new heart and a new spirit in HIM and God makes the changes in us which cause us to be His children when we believe HIM.
Certainly we learn the will of God as we read the NT Bible, but it is God who puts HIS Spirit in us to lead us in HIS ways that we can now be righteous in HIM.
Jesus says: John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in MY name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
God does HIS work in us.
Ephesians 2
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for HIS great love wherewith HE loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us (made us alive) together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come HE might shew the exceeding riches of HIS grace in HIS kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are HIS workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

God simply puts it in my heart and mind what to do or what to say. I yield to the Holy Spirit speaking as God wills.
An example: God will call a scripture to my mind and I share that scripture. Or God will call a concept to my mind and I share that concept.
The work is of God who called this to my mind. The work is not of myself. I didn't try to do anything. I just spoke as the Spirit called these things to my mind.

Several years ago, I was speaking to my favorite aunt.
The Holy Spirit brought this to my mind: "Tell your aunt about being taken into heaven."
(I didn't want to do that for she was Church of Christ and they don't usually take favorably to supernatural events of God.)
But I yielded to the Holy Spirit anyhow and told my aunt about being taken into heaven.
I said to Aunt Ardath: "Shortly after I was born again in 1975, I was asleep in the night. I was transported into heaven. I knew I was with God, with Jesus, with the Holy Spirit. At that time I was merged into the body of Jesus, made one with the Word of God, God and the Holy Spirit witnessing."
(I saw no physical images. It was in the Spirit.)
And a few night later, the exact same thing happened again.
As I was speaking to my aunt, I noticed a sort-of dreamy look come on her face. And when I finished speaking, my aunt said, "Something like that happened to me once and it was all golden."

So we just share those things brought to our mind by God by HIS Spirit.
If the people are of God, they will delight in hearing what God has done. If the people are not of God, they will want to get away from us.
Either way, we do the work of God when we share what God brings to our memory at the time we are with that person.
