The Bible shows us the devil will become even more fierce toward the end of this world, since he knows his time is short.
Revelation 12:12 ... for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

Devils bring ideas to human minds.
Persons without the control of God through the Holy Spirit often yield to ideas of devils.
Thus we see the increase of wrath coming through humans toward the end of this world.

We who are of God have even more need for personal control, especially through the Holy Scriptures as brought to us by the Holy Spirit.
For the Holy Spirit leads us to produce the following fruits of the Spirit which are opposite to the works of the flesh and devils.
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance:
The world often acts according to his own mind and desires of his own flesh often brought by devils.
The increase in irrational acts, such as these shooting in businesses that we have been witnessing, show the work of the fierceness of devils coming in the last days through men lacking the control of God.
