We are born again by God speaking to us by HIS Spirit and when that happens we are changed immediately by that word.
Then through the remainder of our lives Christ is formed in us by the Holy Spirit of Jesus as HE teaches us spiritual things and we walk in them, one step at a time.
One scripture will be given us or one concept of Christ and we walk in that concept and it becomes a part of us as we do that scripture.
Then the Holy Spirit of Jesus gives us another scripture and we walk in that scripture until it becomes a part of us, Christ formed in us.
This continues as long as we live on this earth.

I'm 84 years old and am growing by the Holy Spirit year by year, day by day.
Many years ago, God said to me: "One step at a time ... one step at a time ... it is enough."
Walk in those words that we hear from God. And continue in them.
