John 10:10 Jesus says: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Devils will bring destructive thoughts to us if we allow him to do so.
The apostle Peter says:
I Peter 5:8-9 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith,
2 Timothy 1:7 God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Joshua 1:5 God says: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
And God repeats this concept in Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for HE hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

The devil will bring thoughts opposite to the above scriptures. It is up to us to believe what God says and cling to the truth of the scriptures.
2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ (The Word);
Jesus says:
John 8:44 ... He (the devil) was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
So the devil will bring fear filled thoughts to our mind which are exactly opposite to the truth. He will torment us with thoughts concerning what is going to happen if we allow him to do this.
Instead we take that troubling thought to God in prayer asking God for HIS truth and we cling to that truth brought to us by the Holy Spirit.
As long as we are on this earth, we must establish our faith by holding fast to what God has said in the Bible, not allowing devils to steal what the Bible tells us.
So learn to keep scripture before you and build your life on that which God says in the Holy Bible.
Fight the good fight of faith! Believe what God says in the Bible for it is truth.
Each of us must learn to build our house on the Word of God and know that is truth.
