The apostle Paul says:
Philippians 4:13-15 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

We speak of the past in-so-much as the past shows examples of God working in the lives of ourselves and others.
But to regret past events is non-productive for us and for others.
A young man, early 30's, came to our house recently to do some work. He told us his father was a pastor but is no longer living. He began speaking of how he regrets having done certain things in the past. This is the type of destructive thinking we must avoid.
Paul told us to "press" toward the high calling of God in Christ the Word.
So in both word and deed we who belong to God must go forward and make ourselves to go forward, rather than living in past failures and regrets, for that will not help us nor others.
Remember: As you read this blog, focus on those scriptures which address your needs, meditating on those scriptures and doing them.
Go forward keeping the Word of God before your mind daily, doing that instruction.
