Living in the New Covenant

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

The New Covenant is so much better than the old, yet some people try to live in both covenants failing to distinguish between the covenants.

In the New Covenant, the way to God is through Jesus Christ and what HE did.

The Old Covenant way to God is through what humans did in their various works.

When we reach the day of judgment, I'd much rather believe in what Jesus did than what I did.

We no longer sacrifice for our sins as they did in the Old Covenant.  We trust in the blood of Jesus paying for our sins.  (However in some church groups the people still try to do penance for their sins but this is not the New Covenant and to do this denies the sacrifice Jesus made for our sins.)

In the New Covenant we are given the Holy Spirit to lead us.  The Holy Spirit teaches us all things, guides us into all truth, reminds us of all that Jesus has said, and shows us things to come.  (Jn. 14:26 & Jn. 16:13)

In the New Covenant the "sabbath" is ceasing daily from our own works.  Heb. 4 ... For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. 5And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. 6Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:  7Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. 8For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.  9There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.  10For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. So we try to do only those "works" authored by God through HIS Spirit.

In the New Covenant we do not go to a building to pray or worship God.  We do not go to a place to pray or worship God.  Jn. 4:  The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. 20Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. 21Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. 23But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.  To day we have the Spirit of God dwelling in us so we pray continually wherever we are and we worship God continually through obeying that brought to us by the Spirit of God.
