Matthew 1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the
angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son
of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is
conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21 And she shall bring forth a
son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people
from their sins. 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled
which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin
shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call
his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
It stood out to me that
Jesus would fulfill the word spoken before by the prophet about a virgin having a son who would be known as Emmanuel, which means God with us. Jesus the
Son of God, power of God, wisdom of God, being in the Father and the
Father in Him, walked on this earth as a man teaching and healing the
people and then laid down His life that we might be saved.
John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with
you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath
seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? 10
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the
words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that
dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. 11 Believe me that I am in the
Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works
'sake.
After He rose from the dead Jesus ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father interceding for us. Before He died, however, Jesus said He would ask the Father to give His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, to dwell in those who belong to Him ...
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you
another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the
Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him
not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and
shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to
you.
As Jesus asked, the Father has given us the Holy Spirit, making known to us the the will of God, leading, guiding, teaching, interceding for us. God continues being with us today by His Spirit living in each believer ...
1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your
body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of
God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price:
therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
What an amazing and marvelous way God has provided to be with us.
