Jesus said: It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. Jn. 6:63
The only way we are going to know the will of God in the various issues of this life is by the Spirit of God. You can even search the scripture and find a scripture and try to do it and still not be in the way of God in the matter at hand.
Jesus explains: (Ye) Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. Jn. 5:38
Paul explains: For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Romans 8:14
Real faith is not based on trying to find a scripture to stand on. Real faith comes when the Spirit of God reminds us of a scripture as we consider an issue of this life... Or as the Spirit of God reminds us of a dream which gives direction as we consider a specific issue... Or as we have a thought from Spirit of God. This is being led by Spirit.
