Difference made by the Holy Spirit

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

After Jesus arose he gave the Holy Spirit to all who believed.  This made all the difference.  The Holy Spirit gives us the power to do the word of God. Before receiving the Holy Spirit we try to do the word of God with our mind only to fail over and over in expectations.

Jesus said ... ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:7

Before the crucifixion and resurrection and the giving of the Holy Spirit to all believers, Jesus taught some "impossible" things.

Lk. 6 ... But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, 28Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. 29And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.

It is the nature of man to hate, to want to get even, to want to win out.

But after the Holy Ghost was given, the believer had a power to overcome the natural man.  The Holy Spirit is another "spirit".  It is the Spirit of Jesus Christ which is completely different from the spirit of the natural man.

Some churches set up things for all to do.  But only those who have the Spirit of God dwelling in them have the power that enables them to overcome the natural man.

Many try to do these things with their mind much like one would set up New Year's resolutions only to break them over and over.

The Spirit of God quickens, says Jesus.  The flesh of man profits nothing.  Jn. 6:63

You can't do these spiritual things with your mind.

You must be born again, born of the Spirit of God, to do the works of God.
