Psalm 121:2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
One of the definitions of "help" is "to improve". To try to improve
ourselves according to what is considered better in the sight of
man is of little worth, being of the flesh.
But, as the Holy Spirit works in our lives, opening
our eyes to changes we need to make in order to live according to the
Word of God and we make those changes, we are conformed to the image of
Christ. We're helped, changed for the better, improved, according to the will
of God. For, when God chose us, He determined that we should be
conformed to the image of Christ.
Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to
be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn
among many brethren.
