2 Corinthians 4:17-18 ... For our light affliction, which is but for a
moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of
glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the
things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal;
but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Exhortation: (Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet)
We get awfully excited about those things we can see on this earth ...
But the things which we can see are only temporary ... the things we cannot see with our natural eye are eternal.
Col. 3 ... If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
5Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: 7In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
8But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. 9Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: 11Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
As we read these various things, we should focus on anything that stands out to us. There is a message from God to you in such. It is important to look closely at this and apply it to your own life making changes as needed.
One form of "blasphemy" is misusing the Word of God. When the word of God is misused it does despite to the Word of God causing people to hate the word of God. One fleshly misuse of the word of God is when pastors take up offerings using scripture such as 100-fold return which has nothing to do with offerings.
Mt. 19 ... Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore? 28And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
In the USA at sporting events, we often see a person hold up a sign with Jn. 3:16 (just the number) on it. I feel this is misuse of the word of God. This is a very fleshly example. Such things really cause the world to hate scripture. I believe this causes blasphemy against the Word of God.
When we use the word of God, we must be careful to be lead by the Spirit of God. The flesh profits nothing. It is only when the Spirit wants us to speak, we should speak.
Most people who say they are Christians are being led by their own flesh and not Spirit. It is only when we are led by God's Spirit that we can do the work of God.
