Psalm 8 ... Prayers to God & Promises of God to the Church

1 O Lord our Lord,
how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength
because of thine enemies,
that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers,
the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him?
and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels,
and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands;
thou hast put all things under his feet:
7 All sheep and oxen,
yea, and the beasts of the field;
8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea,
and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.

9 O Lord our Lord,
how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

Phil. 2 ... 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given Him a name which is above every name:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The name of Jesus is "THE WORD".

The WORD is above every name.  Nothing equals THE WORD.

Everything bows down to THE WORD.  Though some people ignore THE WORD on this earth and discount it, eventually their knees will bow in the end to THE WORD.

We hold The Word more precious than silver, than gold, and more precious than other people, and more precious than our own selves or anything else in heaven or earth, except for God the Father HIMSELF.

Jn. 1 ... 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

We, too, who are of God have beheld the glory of The Word many times as we have lived on this present earth.  We can think of the various times God has sent HIS Word to our minds to lead us, guide us, comfort us, teach us HIS ways.  And we rejoice in HIS Word each time it comes to our mind.

Phil. 2 ...  11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Each time we do The Word, we confess The Word to be our Lord ... Lord of all ...

Acts 3 ... 1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. 2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; 3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. 5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee:In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. 7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up:and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple:and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him. 11 And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.

12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go. 14 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you; 15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. 16 And His name through faith in His name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know:yea, the faith which is by Him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

By The Word we have perfect soundness ... when The Word comes to us by HIS Spirit.

The faith "which is by HIM" ... not by ourselves, not of our conjuring to get what we want ... but rather a faith which is by HIM, the Word given us by the Holy Spirit which is the will of God.  We can trust that Word.  It show the heart of God in the situation of this life.

I Cor. 2 ...  9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit:for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God:for they are foolishness unto him:neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Jn. 1 ... 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.

The Word is our light.

Psalm 119:130 ...The entrance of Thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

 Psalm 119:105 ...Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Prov. 3 ...  13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom,
and the man that getteth understanding.
14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver,
and the gain thereof than fine gold.
15 She is more precious than rubies:
and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
16 Length of days is in her right hand;
and in her left hand riches and honour.
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness,
and all her paths are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her:
and happy is every one that retaineth her.

19 The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth;
by understanding hath he established the heavens.
20 By his knowledge the depths are broken up,
and the clouds drop down the dew.

Wisdom is from God  and is The Word given to us by God though HIS Spirit.  Nothing compares to The Word.  The Word is above all persons and things.
