Jesus gives us some strong warnings in the following scripture.
Matthew 24
2And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
3 And as HE sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto HIM privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of THY coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
(They present themselves as being Christians, saying, "Jesus is Lord." They look like Christians but they are not born again thereby they deceive many. And many will present themselves as ministers while not being called to the ministry by Jesus and not being born again.)

6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
(It seems to me like we are seeing increases in the above troubles.)

13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
The iniquity hardens our hearts toward God and causes us to care less about things of God and many will be swept away because of this.
I have been taking special action concerning "iniquity".

(defined in I Cor. 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. )
Iniquity is also defined as "vileness" ...
Romans 1:26-28 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

(If the homosexual/lesbian sees this as sin in the sight of God and believes the scripture and repents and does such acts no more, he will be saved along with all repentant sinners, if he continues with faith in God unto the end.)

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

A word of warning about allowing yourself to be "sucked into" politics.
I have always been a non-political person. My hope has never been in governments of men. But I admit I am interested in the current presidential election in USA, yet I'm not interested in any candidate. My interest is a curiosity concerning what they will do, and that curiosity draws me into looking at what they do from time to time and after a few minutes, I make myself turn my TV to something else. There is a great deal of evil in politics as they speculate what might happen and accuse each other of evil, often for their own personal gain.

Most current movies seem to have more evil than I care to watch. We get many old movies with various streaming stations. I try to avoid some of the "iniquity" by passing time with the older movies.
I am very aware of Matthew 24 where Jesus warns us about the iniquity of the current time causing our "love" to grow cold. I feel this is one of the great dangers of the end times, and how Paul told us to work out our own salvation with "fear and trembling".
Philippians 2:12 ... work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Avoid "iniquity".

Another warning: Often we think we can be around unbelievers without being affected.
Jesus warns:
Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
These are indeed perilous times and often we fail to recognize the current dangers.
But we are warned in the Bible.
2 Timothy 3
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Classical music is something I enjoy. It is not that I focus intently on the music, but often I have something playing even as I read Bible and spiritual things.
And I have many old DVD's and I have returned to watching some of these to fill my time at night because it doesn't seem the older movies show as much blatant sin as they are showing today.
