I Corinthians 6

9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate (homosexuals), nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

3 Without natural affection (homosexual/lesbians/ and mothers who kill their own babies by abortion), trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Romans 1  (God's statement and view concerning homosexual & lesbian)

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

By those verses of scripture in the Holy Bible, I can see God 's view of sin.

Many years ago this scripture was given to me during a trial I was going through. I was reminded again last 11/29/23.
 
This scripture has been very encouraging to me.

One day God gave me the following Word: "The flesh never improves. It never gets any better."
 
No matter how long we have been born again (having the Holy Spirit living within us) we still carry this flesh with us for as long as we live on this earth.
 
And even though we are different after we are born again, our flesh remains the same sinful, worldly flesh we have always had. 

Galatians  5

17  For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.


Only now we are able to overcome by God’s Spirit which lives within us. 
 
I am reminded of this scripture … 1 John 4:4greater is HE that is in you, than he that is in the world.

I sometimes am encouraged by thinking on some of the verses of Psalm 107, that tell us that even if we’ve failed and done wrong, we can repent and still turn to God for His help.
 
11 Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:
 
12 Therefore HE brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.
 
13 Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and HE saved them out of their distresses.
 
14 HE brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.
 
15 Oh that men would praise the LORD for HIS goodness, and for HIS wonderful works to the children of men!
 
16 For HE hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.
 
17 Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.
 
18 Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.
 
19 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and HE saveth them out of their distresses.
 
This may be a small example -
 
I often walk my dog in an area behind our house where there are paths that lead to a woods. I was wearing my winter coat and had a pair of driving gloves in the pockets. I had a thought to take the gloves out because I might accidentally drop one while getting other things from my pockets, such as dog treats or leash.
 
Unfortunately I didn’t act on that (thought/instruction) and continued to leave the gloves in the pockets. After a time, I did lose one of those gloves. I was sorry for my failure to act on that thought and asked God to please let me find that glove, although I rarely wear those gloves and knew it was not that important.
 
Probably several months went by. I would keep looking along the paths or wherever I thought I’d been. This area is right next to a field. During this time there were some strong winds on some days, winter came with snow, and then finally the field got plowed up. It didn’t seem like there was any hope that the glove would be found or be in good condition, especially if it had been in the field.
 
Then one day I was out in the yard and was so surprised to see that glove right in our yard, several feet away from the field. It was in good condition, besides a tiny rip, which may have been there previously, I can’t remember. 
 
I was so amazed and thankful that God kept it and let me find it after so long a time.

Romans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to HIS purpose. 
 
I am learning that it is important not to focus on what people in the world see as life or success. The wisdom of this world is foolishness with God (I Cor. 3:19) and causes you to compare yourself to others. My focus should be on doing HIS Word.

The apostle Paul says: 

2 Corinthians 10:12  For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
