πŸ’₯ One of the greatest problems for Christians today.

Those individuals who have set their lives to live according to this world and are now born again are faced with converting their way of life to fit the Word of God so they can live above this world and the many problems of this world.

Paul says:  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.  Romans 12:2

Daily on TV news, one of the subjects today is the rising cost of food, fuel, and housing.

We hear these worldly stories but are really unaffected because we have been following God for many years, doing as instructed in the scriptures, and we have no debt.

The problem today is not so much rising prices but is personal debt.

Debt is a burden and that burden increases as prices rise.

To restructure your life, if you owe for car, housing, and other things, is to set your mind first by the following scripture and to ask God to help you to live according to HIS Word.

1 Timothy 6

5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

(Put away those people who think gain to be a sign of godliness and think if you have new cars and large houses it is a sign God is blessing you.  Most of those people have likely taken on debt to get things and this is not a sign of godliness.  It is the opposite of godliness.)

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; 14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

15 Which in HIS times HE shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; 16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

You will do more for your family by living godly lives than buying bigger houses or new cars.

Setting about to accumulate things might even curse the lives of your family.

I was born in 1937.  My father and mother only bought that which they could pay for.  And that was how I was taught to live.  Later I read Bible and saw this is also way of God.

Bless your children by learning the way of God and living in that way.

My father was an auto mechanic.  During the depression, he did some work on the farm equipment to keep one of the farmers going.  The farmer came to my dad and told him he could not pay for the work my dad had done and the farmer said:  "Just take my land in payment for the work."  My dad refused to do that and told the farmer the time would come when he could pay for the work.  The local banker said to my dad, "Take the farm.  That's how you become rich."

My dad lived a simple life, working with his hands.  We never lacked for food or clothing even during the depression.  Before he died, my dad said to me, "I'm glad I could provide enough money so your mother could stay home and take care of you."  My dad lived godly ways without going to church.  He told me some of the worst people to deal with were church people.

Romans 9:30-32  What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.

32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;

By the time my dad died, he was born again.

So after I was born again in 1975, it was easy for me to see that I needed to get out of debt and stay out of debt, for this was a way of life lived by my father and mother.  I had a goodly heritage!

This is what you can give your own family.

If you are working on plans where you can get more money next year thinking that is the answer, consider the following.

James 4

13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:

14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.

Psalm 51:10  Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Pray for God to help you to undo yourselves from the ways of this world and to establish you in the ways of God as you live in this world.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

Matthew 6:33  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and HIS righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

We learn, as Christians, to seek that which is right in the sight of God.  If God gives us the plan and we do what God says, that is the righteousness of God.  So in all things, we ask God what HE wants us to do and we follow that plan, doing what is right in the sight of God.

Matthew 11:28-30  Jesus says:

28 Come unto ME, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of ME; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For MY yoke is easy, and MY burden is light.
