Because I know my kingdom is not of this world, I am able to do Matthew 5:40.
Because I know this body of mine will not go into heaven with me but God will give me a new spiritual body, I am able to do Matthew 5:39.

The following three scriptures fit together and because I know one scripture I am able to do that which I could not do before.
Matthew 5:38-42 Jesus says:
39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
(My body is only temporary.)
40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.
40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.
(My kingdom is not of this world.)
41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

Several years ago, my cousin (an able bodied man who wouldn't keep a job and provide for his family), came to me wanting me to give money to him.
I got my checkbook and showed him the balance in my bank account and told him, "You can have this much." (all that I had for me and my elderly mother)
With that, he became ashamed and would take nothing from me. He said, "I didn't want to do this, but my wife kept telling me to come to you for money."
He left and got a job cleaning carpets.

John 18:36

We will be changed by God into new spiritual bodies before we are taken to the new heaven and new earth wherein dwelleth rightousness.
I Corinthians 15
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep (die), but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
