Today in USA, I find while others approve sins against God as cited in the Bible, and even uphold the right to commit sins stated as sins in the Bible, I am permitted freedom to speak what the Bible says about specific sins.
I do not believe nations of this world can legislate sins, such as was tried when USA prohibited the sale of alcohol in the 1920's

There is the world and there is the church and they are not the same thing.
Many go to church and join churches without being born again and without being given the Holy Spirit of God and they call themselves Christians, but they are the world trying to deal with spiritual things and religion.
The apostle Paul explains:
I Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Jesus tells us:
John 3
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

While the world approves such things today as homosexuals and lesbians, I am permitted today in the USA to speak and print that which the Bible says about such things, showing the will of God by the Bible.
Romans 1
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Born homosexual or lesbian? Jesus says:
Mark 10:6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
That baby is either male or female and all can tell by simply looking at the way that baby is created.
Romans 1, shows us that because they viewed God in the image of man, God turned them over to be homosexuals and lesbians and gave them a reprobate mind, a mind without the judgment of God.
If a person sins against God, and that person later comes to see the act as evil against God, then that person can be born again.
Sins against God as stated in the Bible are as follows:
Romans 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate (homosexuals), nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

We are free in the USA today to speak such things as written in the Bible even when this world goes another way.
For this we are grateful!
The people of the world are free to live as they choose and we who are of God are free to live by the Bible and speak the Word of God that is in the Bible.
There are other nations where this is not the case. Some have to speak that which the state requires.
Therefore with all its faults, democracy gives Christians freedom to worship God by the Bible and to share the writings of the Bible without persecution from the governments of men.
Live in peace while waiting for the return of Jesus.
