In 1978, when we were registering the name of this ministry with the Federal Government and in Texas, we had to submit a name for the ministry. I chose "Word of Life." But someone else already had that name. I chose another name but someone also had that name. I said to God: "We must have a name! Please give us a name for the ministry."
Instantly to my mind was brought, "The NAME that is above all names." Over and over I heard this. And I said to God, "YOU want us to name it Jesus?"
I really didn't want to do that. Jesus is an offence in sight of many.
But I knew this was from God so I told the woman who worked for me, "Name it Jesus Ministries."
She replied: "If it isn't already taken."
I was confident that name wouldn't already be taken because the other ministers who were naming their ministries also know that name is an offence.
This woman came back to me and said with surprise, "Well ... it wasn't taken."
So she registered "Jesus" as the name of this ministry!

Have you noticed how powerful, worldly men often curse using the name "JESUS"?
At one point I was a client of Michael Ellison Advertising Agency, who represented many big-time ministers.
The agency wanted me to change the name of the ministry from Jesus Ministries to Joan Boney Ministries. I told them I couldn't do that because it was God who told me the name of this ministry.
The name that is above all names is used by rich and powerful men to curse. They do not curse by other men. They curse by the name Jesus ... the name that is above all names.
