Romans 9:8 ... They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God:
A person can go to church and try to do all he is told to do and not be a child of God. This type of person is a child of the flesh, and a child of the mind.
But the person who is really of God is a child of the Spirit of God and not of his own will.
You can read the Bible and try to do the scriptures and still not be a child of God.
A child of God is born of the Spirit of God. If you have had God speak to you by His Spirit and if you have been instantly changed, you know it.
And we are told to live this way ...
Col. 2 ... I was born of the Spirit of God when I was about 37 years old. God simply changed me. It was done in an instant. And since this time, God has continually shown me HIS way by HIS Spirit.

I read the Bible every day. And I have read the complete Bible many times. But it is only as God speaks to me by HIS Spirit that I know what to do. Those words spoken by the Spirit lead us and guide us and show us the will of God in the issues of this life. All things of God are done by HIS Spirit. Most people that I meet who say they are Christians are trying to do everything by their own understanding. It will not work.
Romans 8:14 ... For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
