Yesterday a small meteor hit Russia without warning ... It was a shock to all.
This is the type of event only God could cause. This is the type of sign in the sky we look for.
Many people in Russia who experienced this thought it was the end of the world.
It was not end of world but it could be significant.
We, who look for return of Jesus, know the events prior to return of Jesus will be the signs in the sky which no man can cause and no man can control.
I'm certainly not saying this is it ... but I am saying this is the type of event we can expect to see before the return of Jesus, except in larger scale.
Scriptures:
Mt. 24 ... Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Mk. 13 ... But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, 25And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. 26And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
Lk. 21 ... And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
II Peter 3 ... But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
One thing, when these sky events happen, we might be shocked or even frightened, but we will know what is going on when that sky turns black unexpectedly in the middle of the day.
And something like the Russia event shows us how it can happen any time without the scientists and newscasters warning anyone!
God will shake the heaven and the earth.
Isaiah 13:13 ... Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
Heb. 12 ... Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. 27And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. 28Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: 29For our God is a consuming fire.
In a dream I had several years ago, the earth slipped on its axis ... people were terrified. The scientists, religious leaders, and governments of men were meeting together to see what could be done. A TV newscaster was giving news and he was so terrified he couldn't continue the broadcast.
The time will come when God will shake both the heavens and the earth. "The earth shall remove out of her place" ...
At this point, the solar system is being held in place by the same WORD of God that will eventually bring the end. For the end will not be caused by power of men to explode weapons. The end will come by the word of God which causes the shaking of both the heavens and the earth. And we who are of God will know that so we will know what is happening.
