Hosea 8:7 For they have sown the wind, and they
shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal:
if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.
When thinking about sowing wind
and reaping the whirlwind, I thought of the trouble we bring to
ourselves, and sometimes to others, when we go forward by our own
wisdom/ideas or that of someone else, or when we follow a thought
brought by a spirit other than the Holy Spirit. Just like the wind, we
don't have a solid foundation, no real basis for what we set out to do.
And the result is trouble and destruction, just as happens with a whirlwind.
We only have a safe and solid direction in which to go when we have heard from God by the Holy Spirit.
Jesus taught that if we hear His word and act on His word, we build on a rock and it will not fall. If we act on something other than the word of God, it will fall ...
