The bottom line to everything is hearing from God by HIS Spirit.

If we have the Spirit of God then God is the teacher.

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. 
I Jn. 2:27

The Spirit of God that is in us "whispers" ideas to our minds, showing us what to do and showing us where to focus.

Therefore we can only "abide in HIM" by hearing the whisperings of the Spirit of God and living by what we hear from the Spirit of God, making adjustment to our life as needed.

I find there are not many who actually have the Spirit of God though they think they belong to God ... Nor are there many who actually follow the Spirit of God.

And this is what really matters ... hearing from the Spirit of God and following HIM by heeding that which the Spirit of God speaks to you.
