Podcast: The people complain about Moses, again! Jesus, from heaven, calls HIS ministers today for the work of the ministry.

Exodus 17:1-7

1 And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink.

2 Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD?

3 And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?

4 And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me.

5 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go.

6 Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

7 And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?

Ministers set and called by Jesus for work of the ministry in the New Testament Church today:

Ephesians 4

Wherefore HE (Jesus) saith, When HE ascended up on high, HE led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

11  And HE gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Jesus calls Paul from heaven; Jesus calls us today for the work of the ministry from heaven.

Acts 26  (Paul tells his story to king Agrippa)

1 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Thou art permitted to speak for thyself. Then Paul stretched forth the hand, and answered for himself:

2 I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews: 3Especially because I know thee to be expert in all customs and questions which are among the Jews: wherefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently.

4 My manner of life from my youth, which was at the first among mine own nation at Jerusalem, know all the Jews; 5 Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.

6 And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers: 7 Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope's sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews.

8 Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?

9 I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth. 10 Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them.

11 And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities.

12 Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,

13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.

14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou ME? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord?

And HE said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.

16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; 17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, 18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in ME.

19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:

(Comments by Joan Boney)  On the night of January 10, 1975, I was in my bed and was reading a book about sin, when God spoke these words to me:  "Joan ... You know those 'mistakes' you've been making all these years?  Those weren't mistakes.  Those were sins."

"Sins?"  I gasped!  I was shocked.  I thought they were mistakes.

I was instantly born again.

A few nights after that I was transported into heaven in the night while sleeping.

I was with God, and Christ, and the Holy Spirit.  (I saw no physical images.  It was a spiritual experience.)  At that time I was merged into the body of Jesus, made one with the Word of God, God and the Holy Spirit witnessing. This exact same thing happened to me again a second time a few nights later.  (see 2 Corinthians 12:1-4)  I thought everyone who was born again had this experience.  But later found out that was not so.  I believe I was at that time ordained into the 2 ministry offices to which I am called:  apostle & prophet.

For the next 5 years God taught me, leading me through both the Old Testament and New Testament.  I knew by then God had called me to be in the ministry and thought I knew what I was called to do because God had showed me by the scriptures what I would be doing, I didn't know where I was to do these things in the church.

God was going to show me.  I waited for the next 6 months.  I had closed my small business in Dallas, Texas, and waited at my apartment for God to show me where I was to go.  I did not apply at any church. I just waited to hear from God.

On January 10, 1980, I was asleep in the night.  A very loud trumpet-like voice spoke three words into my ear: "Hartford, Seattle, KWJS"

I jumped out of bed and wrote the letters "KWJS" onto a note pad beside my bed.  I didn't want to get these letters mixed up for they sounded to me like call letters to either radio or television.  (They were radio.)

I said to God, "Are YOU telling me to go on radio?  I wouldn't know how to do that.  I'm a writer, not a speaker."

I heard:  "Call the radio station manager."

When the station office opened that same morning, I called and ask to speak to the station manager.  He came on the phone immediately.  I said, "God might be showing me to go on radio.  How would you do that?"

The station manager replied:  "Make an audition tape 29 1/2 minutes long and send it to me.  If you fit our broadcasting, we will offer you a contract."

As soon as I got off the phone, I got my tape recorder and kitchen timer and recorded an audition tape and took that tape to the US post office and mailed it that morning to the radio station manager at KWJS radio.

They sent me a contract immediately and within 5 days I was on station KWJS speaking exhortations to the church at the noon-time hour.
