Podcast: God gives to Moses rules and patterns for worship in the Old Covenant

Exodus 24:18  And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.

From Exodus 25-31 God gives Moses instruction for the building of the tabernacle and the way of priesthood in the Old Testament and the garments for Aaron and his sons who would be priests and the sacrifices of animals for sins.

With the coming of Jesus the New Covenant began and the sacrifices for sins are no longer animals but the sacrifice is Jesus and HIS shed blood.

John 4, the woman of Samaria asked Jesus, "Where are we to worship?"  (What place?  Which mountain?)

Jesus answers:

John 4

21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship HIM.

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship HIM must worship HIM in spirit and in truth.

Many church groups today try to hold on to some Old Testament rules and mix Old Covenant with New Covenant.

πŸ’₯  Their ministers dress in robes and other garments to identify themselves as ministers.

The garment the NT minister dresses in is the Word of God, the Holy Scriptures.  We cover ourselves with Jesus, the Word.  And when we speak the church recognizes us because of the Word of God which we speak and the gifts of the Holy Spirit which God gives us.

Romans 12

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;

7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;

8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

I Corinthians 12

4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as HE (God) will.

As we exercise that spiritual gift given us by God, the church recognizes us as being of God.

On this Podcast, I will speak about some of the differences between the things God told them to do in the Old Covenant and things today in the New Covenant Church ... and how some of the people today misunderstand Old from New and mix covenants.
