Podcast: The blood of Jesus causes us to approach God

In the Old Testament, the people were not given the Holy Spirit of God but the prophets were and the people went to the prophets to inquire of God.

In the New Testament each believer is given the Holy Spirit and sealed with the Holy Spirit and goes directly to God through Jesus Christ, the Word.

Hebrews 1:1-2  God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by HIS Son, whom HE hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also HE made the worlds;  (by the Word)

Exodus 19

10 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes,

(We keep ourselves today by the Word of God, causing ourselves to walk in God's instructions, being sanctified by the Word and cleansed by that which God shows us.)

11 And be ready against the third day: for the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.

(Be ready today for the return of Jesus, praying always over all concerns and keeping connected through prayer in all things with God.)

12 And thou shalt set bounds unto the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount shall be surely put to death:

13 There shall not an hand touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live: when the trumpet soundeth long, they shall come up to the mount.

(New Testament:  I Thessalonians 4:16-17   For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.)

14 And Moses went down from the mount unto the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.

(Jesus says:  Luke 21:34-36   And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting (over indulgence), and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.)

15 And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: come not at your wives.

(In the New Testament Church we must be ready continually, "For ye know not when the Lord comes." Mt. 24:42  Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.  Those who are ready will be taken out, I believe before The Great Tribulation and those who are not ready will be left to go though The Great Tribulation.  Luke 17:34-36  I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. 35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 36 Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.)

Exodus 19

16 And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled.

17 And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount.

18 And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.

19 And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.

20 And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.

21 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they break through unto the LORD to gaze, and many of them perish.

22 And let the priests also, which come near to the LORD, sanctify themselves, lest the LORD break forth upon them.

(Now in the New Testament all come to God through the blood shed by Jesus Christ.  HE is the passover for the New Testament church.)

23 And Moses said unto the LORD, The people cannot come up to mount Sinai: for thou chargedst us, saying, Set bounds about the mount, and sanctify it.

24 And the LORD said unto him, Away, get thee down, and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the priests and the people break through to come up unto the LORD, lest HE break forth upon them.

25 So Moses went down unto the people, and spake unto them.

John 14:6  (Jesus says)   I (the Word) am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by ME (the Word).

I Corinthians 3:16  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
