💥 As they journeyed through the wilderness, God led them by a cloud by day and a fire by night.

 

Exodus 40

36 And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys:

37 But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.

38 For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

Numbers  9

15 And on the day that the tabernacle was reared up the cloud covered the tabernacle, namely, the tent of the testimony: and at even there was upon the tabernacle as it were the appearance of fire, until the morning.

16 So it was alway: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night.

17 And when the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle, then after that the children of Israel journeyed: and in the place where the cloud abode, there the children of Israel pitched their tents.

18 At the commandment of the LORD the children of Israel journeyed, and at the commandment of the LORD they pitched: as long as the cloud abode upon the tabernacle they rested in their tents.

19 And when the cloud tarried long upon the tabernacle many days, then the children of Israel kept the charge of the LORD, and journeyed not.

20 And so it was, when the cloud was a few days upon the tabernacle; according to the commandment of the LORD they abode in their tents, and according to the commandment of the LORD they journeyed.

21 And so it was, when the cloud abode from even unto the morning, and that the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they journeyed: whether it was by day or by night that the cloud was taken up, they journeyed.

22 Or whether it were two days, or a month, or a year, that the cloud tarried upon the tabernacle, remaining thereon, the children of Israel abode in their tents, and journeyed not: but when it was taken up, they journeyed.

23 At the commandment of the LORD they rested in the tents, and at the commandment of the LORD they journeyed: they kept the charge of the LORD, at the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses.

Today God leads HIS people by the Holy Spirit of Jesus.

The Holy Spirit searches the heart of God to show us the will of God in the various issues of this present life.

I Corinthians 2

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love HIM. (OT) 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by HIS Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The Holy Spirit who is in us simply brings to our minds what Jesus has said to us, keeping us on the highway of God in this life, causing us to know the way to go as we deal with problems of life.

When we hear from the Holy Spirit we know what God wants us to do.

A woman in our neighborhood is a big opera fan.  She asked me if there is anything I would like to know and I told her I had thought about studying Richard Wagner's opera, "The Ring."  

She said this was one of her favorite operas and she had many books she would loan me and also DVD's of the opera.  She sent me two websites of FM radio stations where narrator spoke about where to start when learning about Wagner's "Ring".  

I read the material on that website and found it very informative.  Basically "The Ring" centers around a "god" who has a dwarf steal his ring and that "god" is trying to get it back.  

With that:  I wrote email to the woman and told her if my God had dwarfs steal his ring, I would hunt for another God.

(I knew that was from the Holy Spirit!)

And I told her I did not want to pursue the Wagner opera's because of gods that have no power, false gods of the people.  Hitler led the nation of Germany into virtual destruction over his love of such myths as Wagner's operas.  I had no desire to see DVD's of such but I would likely hear some of the abstract music of Wagner.  

With that, I heard no more from this woman. 

If we speak truth, they will usually depart from us wanting no more of that truth.

I am continually led by information brought to my mind by the Holy Spirit of God.

Jesus said this about the Holy Spirit and what HE would do for believers in the NT church.

John 14:26  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in MY name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 16:13  Howbeit when HE, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for HE shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever HE shall hear (from God), that shall HE speak: and HE will shew you things to come.

I Corinthians 3:16  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

Romans 8:14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
