Podcast: When something comes from the Holy Spirit, it is usually very clear to me that this "word" is from the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit brings to us ideas and thoughts that are from God. The Holy Spirit searches the heart of God and the Holy Spirit is truth in the matter at hand so we can know the will of God and go that way or speak that thing.  The Holy Spirit reminds us of scripture showing us truth and the way to go.

When we hear a word from the Holy Spirit and we go that way, then we walk in the Spirit.

The apostle Paul says:

Galatians 5

16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

So we know the works of the flesh by the above verses of scripture, and we know the Holy Spirit will not bring to our thinking something that is of the flesh.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance:

The Holy Spirit will bring to our thinking ways that will produce the fruits of the Spirit.

Romans 8:1  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

For example:  The flesh will say:  "Tell that person off.  Set him straight."

The Holy Spirit will say:  "Pray for God to help that person."

One way will produce the works of the flesh:  adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings,

To chose to go in the way of the Spirit, will produce the fruits of the Spirit:   love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance:
