Podcast: Crucified with Christ: What that means

Galatians 2:20  The apostle Paul says:  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave HIMSELF for me.

We were born of the flesh of man and as a result we automatically do the works of the flesh.  It is "natural" to us to do these things.  These are a part of the flesh.

Galatians 5:19-21  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these;

Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

We see Paul tells us they which live in the flesh doing the works of the flesh "shall not inherit the kingdom of God."

So we who belong to God keep our flesh crucified with Christ, not permitting our flesh to rise up and do what it wants to do.

We have another power working in us now so the flesh no longer has control over us.  We are born again.  We are now dead with Christ, buried with Him by baptism and raised by the power of God so we can walk on this earth another way now.
