Jesus says:
John 10
2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. (Jesus the Word the shepherd.)
3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear HIS voice: and HE calleth HIS own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
4 And when HE putteth forth HIS own sheep, HE goeth before them, and the sheep follow HIM: for they know HIS voice.
5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
Jesus leads us by thoughts that HE brings to our mind by the Holy Spirit.
HE shows us what to do when we have a problem.
Jesus is always leading us by giving us ideas, by bringing HIS thoughts to our mind by the Holy Spirit.
And we recognize the thoughts Jesus brings by the following.
James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
The voice of the Holy Spirit is "gentle" and "peaceable."
The devil will also send thoughts to our minds but usually the devil is threatening, "If we don't do this immediately we will be destroyed." Often the devil will try to drive us by fear filled thoughts.
Don't follow fear. When fear comes, pray to God, asking HIM what about this thought.

John 10 Jesus says:
(Jesus is The Word. The Word is the "door" showing us the way to go in the issues of this life. God will bring HIS word to our memory to show us what to do.)
9 I (The Word) am the door: by ME if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of MY hand.
29 My Father, which gave them ME, is greater than all; and none (no man or spirit) is able to pluck them out of MY Father's hand.
