When a person fails to respond to godly correction, it usually means that person does not receive the correction ... often they even hate the godly correction and view that correction in an arrogant way rather than humbling themselves in the sight of God.
And so often they have excuses to try to justify themselves in their lack of proper attention to the correction ... all flesh on their part ...
Sad to see this but true.
If a person gave you the greatest gift in the world and you just sit there, this would be improper.
We who bring the correction from God lay down our own lives to bring this correction from God and it is truly the greatest gift you could ever receive.

I Corinthians 3:13-15 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
