God gives wisdom & understanding ... Only by God!

I am acquainted with a man who has an IQ of 174.

He was teacher of our Bible class at the church I attended many years ago.

But this man had neither wisdom nor understanding even with a genius level IQ.

While he taught our Bible class, he was committing fornication. Later he married a divorced woman who had a child by another man. They divorced within a year.

Matthew 5:24    Jesus says:  But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

Wisdom & understand come from God.

You cannot get wisdom or understanding by looking on Internet.  Nor can you get wisdom nor understanding by going to college.  Nor can you get wisdom nor understanding by reading what I write nor what anyone writes.

Only by God do we get wisdom and understanding.

James 1:5    If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Psalm 111:10    The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do HIS commandments: HIS praise endureth for ever.

Proverbs 2:6    For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of HIS mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. 

Proverbs 2:7-8   HE layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: HE is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.  HE keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of HIS saints.

Daniel 2:20-22    Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are HIS:
And HE changeth the times and the seasons: HE removeth kings, and setteth up kings: HE giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:  HE revealeth the deep and secret things: HE knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with HIM.

I Corinthians 1:19-20  For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

30-31    But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
