Philippians 1 ... Reading through the Bible

1 Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:
 

2 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
 

3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, 4 Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, 5 For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; 6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

7 Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace. 8 For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.
 

9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; 

10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; 

that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; 

11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
 


12 But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel; 13 So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places; 14 And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.  15 Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. 18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.
 

19 For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, 

20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. 

21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 

22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour:yet what I shall choose I wot not. 23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:24 Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. 25 And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith; 26 That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.
 

27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ:that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; 

28 And in nothing terrified by your adversaries:which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God. 

29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake; 30 Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.

Nathan, a prophet, sent to David, a prophet, when David sinned ... Prophets ... Their work

One of the works done by prophets is to go to other prophets and speak to them of their sin.

David sinned greatly concerning Bathsheba.  David had sex with Bathsheba.  She became pregnant by David while she was married to Uriah.  Uriah was in the army of David so David called Uriah home "on leave" thinking he, Uriah, would have sex with Bathsheba and when they found her pregnant they would think the child belonged to Uriah.  But Uriah would not have pleasure while others in the army were fighting.

II Sam. 11 ... And David sent to Joab, saying, Send me Uriah the Hittite. And Joab sent Uriah to David. 7 And when Uriah was come unto him, David demanded of him how Joab did, and how the people did, and how the war prospered. 8 And David said to Uriah, Go down to thy house, and wash thy feet. And Uriah departed out of the king's house, and there followed him a mess of meat from the king. 9 But Uriah slept at the door of the king's house with all the servants of his lord, and went not down to his house. 10 And when they had told David, saying, Uriah went not down unto his house, David said unto Uriah, Camest thou not from thy journey? why then didst thou not go down unto thine house?  

11 And Uriah said unto David, The ark, and Israel, and Judah, abide in tents; and my lord Joab, and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open fields; shall I then go into mine house, to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? as thou livest, and as thy soul liveth, I will not do this thing. 

12 And David said to Uriah, Tarry here to day also, and to morrow I will let thee depart. So Uriah abode in Jerusalem that day, and the morrow. 13 And when David had called him, he did eat and drink before him; and he made him drunk:and at even he (Uriah) went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but went not down to his house.
 

14 And it came to pass in the morning, that David wrote a letter to Joab, and sent it by the hand of Uriah. 15 And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die. 16 And it came to pass, when Joab observed the city, that he assigned Uriah unto a place where he knew that valiant men were. 17 And the men of the city went out, and fought with Joab:and there fell some of the people of the servants of David; and Uriah the Hittite died also.

So David arranged for Uriah's death because of Bathsheba.

At one point in David's life, David prayed to God:

Psalm 51:11 Cast me not away from Thy presence; and take not Thy holy spirit from me.

II Sam. 12 ... 1 And the Lord sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor. 2 The rich man had exceeding many flocks and herds:3 But the poor man had nothing, save one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and nourished up:and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own meat, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was unto him as a daughter. 

4 And there came a traveller unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the wayfaring man that was come unto him; but took the poor man's lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him. 

5 And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the Lord liveth, the man that hath done this thing shall surely die:6 And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.
 

7 And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul; 8 And I gave thee thy master's house, and thy master's wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things. 9 Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the Lord, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon. 10 Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife. 11 Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun. 12 For thou didst it secretly:but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.  

13 And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the Lord. 

And Nathan said unto David, The Lord also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die. 14 Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.
 

15 And Nathan departed unto his house. 

And the Lord struck the child that Uriah's wife bare unto David, and it was very sick. 

16 David therefore besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night upon the earth. 17 And the elders of his house arose, and went to him, to raise him up from the earth:but he would not, neither did he eat bread with them. 18 And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead:for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spake unto him, and he would not hearken unto our voice:how will he then vex himself, if we tell him that the child is dead? 

19 But when David saw that his servants whispered, David perceived that the child was dead:therefore David said unto his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead. 

20 Then David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his apparel, and came into the house of the Lord, and worshipped:then he came to his own house; and when he required, they set bread before him, and he did eat. 

21 Then said his servants unto him, What thing is this that thou hast done? thou didst fast and weep for the child, while it was alive; but when the child was dead, thou didst rise and eat bread. 22 And he (David) said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept:for I said, Who can tell whether God will be gracious to me, that the child may live? 23 But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.

When a person identifies himself to church as an apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, or teacher

When a person identifies himself to the church as an apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, or teacher, that person has a responsibility to God and to the church to operate by the Holy Spirit of God and to present his messages to the church in the Spirit of God.

A person does not decide to be apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, or teacher any more than a child decides to be a male or female.

You do not rise to the office of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, or teacher by your own effort though you must work when you are set into the office by God, it is not automatic without effort on your part.

The apostle Paul explained:

Gal. 1 ... 15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, 16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:17 Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.
18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days. 19 But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother. 20 Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.
21 Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia; 22 And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ:23 But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed. 24 And they glorified God in me.


Paul did the work of apostle/teacher immediately wherever he was ...

 Acts 9 ... 10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord. 11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus:for, behold, he prayeth, 12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight. 13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name. 15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way:for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake. 

17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. 

18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales:and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized. 19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus. 20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God. 21 But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests? 22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.
23 And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:


Paul received Christ by revelation from God and Paul preached Christ by revelation from God.  This is exactly what we who are called by God as apostle/prophet/evangelist/pastor or teacher do.  We work by revelation of God in the calling of God by the Holy Spirit of God.  And we report to the church that which we have heard from God.

Paul explains the calling as follows:  

II Cor. 3 ... 5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; 6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit:for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

Ephesians 4 ... When he (Jesus) ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

After Jesus was crucified and ascended into heaven, HE gave "gifts" to the church to care for the church, to do the work of the ministry ...
 
...11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Paul is an example of this apostle who was given to the church after Jesus arose.  Paul did not know Jesus before the crucifixion and resurrection.  Paul is not the last apostle as many churches teach today.  Rather Paul was the first of the New Testament apostles given to operate in the New Testament church after Jesus arose.

In 1975, while reading a book, God spoke to me by His Spirit and revealed Himself to me by HIS Spirit.  The Spirit said:  "Joan, you know all those mistakes you've been making all these years?  Those weren't mistakes.  Those were sins."  I was shocked:  "Sins!" I replied.

I was changed immediately.

The next morning, I was leaving my best friend's house.  I had been staying with her and her husband while recovering from an operation.  As I walked past Donna, I casually said, "Oh, one thing Donna ... I don't think I've been a Christian until now."  Donna was very excited and said, "Jonie:  What did you just say?  Come back here."  

I had been baptized in water when I was 15-years-old and I thought I was a Christian but now I knew I had been changed.  I was now born again by the Spirit of God.  That made all the difference.  I was never the same again.

Shortly after this, I was asleep in the night.  I was transported into heaven and was merged into the body of Jesus with God and the Holy Spirit witnessing.  (I saw no images.  It was an experience in the spirit.)  A few nights later the exact same thing happened to me a second time.  I was made one with the word of God.  I was on fire.  I cared about nothing but Bible after that.  I was completely changed.

I had no idea I was to be a minister.  I just wanted to read Bible.  It took two or three years before I realized the call of God was on me to be a minister.  I just read Bible and did what I saw to do in that period of time.

One day, by the Spirit, God said to me:  "I have called you and put you in the body of Christ as an apostle ..."  

"Apostle?" I screamed ... "What's an apostle?"

The church group I was attending at that time said there are apostles and prophets in today's church but I didn't know any.  I asked our Sunday School teacher who the apostles were in our church group.  He couldn't tell me.  I asked him what apostles do in the church. He couldn't tell me this either.  (Several prophecies had come by various people saying I was a prophet but this was the first time I had heard of apostle.) God began teaching me about apostles and prophets and the work they do in the church.  I believe I was set into these two offices, apostle/prophet, when I was born again and taken into heaven twice in the night and merged into the body of Jesus.

For the next few years, I continued to operate my business in Dallas but I had 3 women who worked for me at the business and I didn't have to be there except to buy merchandise and do appraisals so I stayed home mostly and read the Bible all day.  God worked with me daily by HIS Spirit.

At the appointed time, around 1979, I closed my business and announced I was going into the ministry full time.  I had no where to go.  I had no assignment.  I just closed the business and stayed in my apartment and read Bible.  I had no income.  I lived off the money from the sale of the merchandise at the business.  That was July 31 ... I stayed by myself in my apartment reading Bible until January 10 when God sent what I believe to have been an angel to speak to me.  It was in the night and I was asleep.  A very loud voice, like a trumpet said to me:  "Hartford, Seattle, KWJS"

Within a week I was broadcasting Christian messages on KWJS five days a week, 30 minutes per day.  This is how I went into the ministry.


From the beginning, God taught me about following the Spirit of God and speaking by the Spirit of God.  Jesus and Paul were the patterns used to teach me what to do.

Jesus said ... Jn. 5 ...  30 I can of mine own self do nothing:as I hear, I judge:and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

Paul said  ... I Cor. 2 ... 1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

In 2012, in a dream, God showed me to start a blog on Internet and to begin writing messages for the church.  Within 3 days of the dream, we had set up the blog and had begun writing exhortations for the church on Internet.  In the dream, I was shown "It was a little voice but it was a nice little voice."  And indeed it has been a "nice" little voice to the church.  The messages go all over the world daily.  This allows us to exhort the church daily as we are told to do in the following scriptures ...

Heb. 3 ... 7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, 8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. 10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. 11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. 13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; 15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke:howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. 17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.


Heb. 10 ...  22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another:and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28 He that despised Moses 'law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.


The Internet provides us a way to exhort the church daily!  And we do this daily by the Holy Spirit, speaking as we believe we are led by the Holy Spirit.

But there are other spirits out there also.  And we are warned by the apostle John ...  

I Jn. 4 ...1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God:because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God:Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God:and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 

The devil spoke to Jesus and tried to get Jesus to follow him but Jesus knew it to be the devil and Jesus resisted the devil by the word of God and refused to follow the devil.

Mt. 4 ... 1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. 3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4 But he (Jesus) answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. 

5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, 6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down:for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee:and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. 7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. 

8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan:for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. 11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

So we who are of God hear from God by HIS Spirit ... but we also hear from the wrong spirit ...

We must be able and diligent to follow the Spirit of God, but to reject and resist wrong spirits.

Psalm 27 ... Prayers to God & Promises of God to the Church

1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
 

the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
 

2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh,
they stumbled and fell.
3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear:
though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
 

4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after;
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.
 

5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion:
in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me;
he shall set me up upon a rock.
 

6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me:
therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy;
I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.
 

7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice:
have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
 

8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee,
Thy face, Lord, will I seek.
 

9 Hide not thy face far from me;
put not thy servant away in anger:
thou hast been my help; leave me not,
neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
 

10 When my father and my mother forsake me,
then the Lord will take me up.
 

11 Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
 

12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies:
 for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
 

13 I had fainted, unless I had believed
to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
 

14 Wait on the Lord:
be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart:wait, I say, on the Lord.

the Lord (THE WORD) is the strength of my life;  (Word is my power & authority)

of whom shall I be afraid?

Romans 4 ... 13 For the promise, that he (Abraham) should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. 14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:15 Because the law worketh wrath:for where no law is, there is no transgression.
 

16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, 

17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. 

18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. 

19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb:

Today I would like to say that I'm enjoying God exhortations and word for my soul. I would like to share about how Jesus forsaking his parents to be about his father business the scripture tell it all. 

That is my goal to be about my Father  business. 

Luke 2:41-50 Now his parents went Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover. 42.And when he was twelve years old they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast. 43. And when they had fulfilled the days as they returned the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem  and Joseph  and  his mother knew not of it. 44. But they supposing him to have been in the company went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinfolk and acquaintance.  45. And when they found him not they turned back again to Jerusalem seeking him. 46. And it came to pass that after three days they found him in the temple sitting in the midst of the doctor both hearing them and asking them questions. 47. And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answer. 48. And when they saw him they were amazed: and his mother said unto him Son why hast thou thus dealt with us ? behold thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. 49. And he said unto them How is it that ye sought me?  Wist  ye not that I must be about my Father's business? 50. And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.

Delivering Messages

I had sent 2 emails yesterday but when I reread those emails today before printing them in the writing for the blog, I was surprised that the emails seemed a little bland when I was anything but bland inside me.
Then I heard:  "That (blandness) allows them to reject the message."   

Not all accept the message.  Some reject the message to their own harm.  They have choices just as Abraham had choices.  And those choices end up being "tests" / "trials" set up by God to see how seriously they will take the message.

When I told this to Pam, she was reminded of something which I asked her to write.  It is as follows:

There have been times when I have delivered a message I believed to be from God to a person, and later have been attacked with thoughts that I wasn't "strong" enough in delivering the message. 

One example is when I went to a man who was engaged to marry a divorced woman.  I warned him that they would commit adultery if they married since she was divorced and shared scripture about this with him, such as ... But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery:and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.  (Matthew 5:32)

Later thoughts came that I had not delivered this message in a powerful enough way, that perhaps I should have said more or used more forceful words.  But when I turned to God, I was given a thought from the Holy Spirit that I had spoken what God wanted spoken.

This was also confirmed after I had delivered this message to the man who was engaged to marry the divorced woman, as well as to the divorced woman and the woman who planned to be the maid of honor at their wedding.  I knew all of these people from the singles group at the church I attended at the time.  Not long after this, I noticed that people in the singles group started avoiding me, even moving away from me when I sat near them for  a church service.   I didn't know what was going on and asked God if I had done something wrong to cause this.

Not long after asking God about this, a woman stopped me after the church service one Sunday morning.  She said she had a message from God for me.  The message she delivered was that God knew how I was being treated by those in the singles group, and that I needed to know it was because of what I had spoken about this divorced woman remarrying and that this was what HE had wanted me to do.   (As I remembered this today, I laughed to think of the thoughts telling me I had not delivered this message strongly enough, for it had such power because it was of God that it caused those in the singles group to move away from me!)

To deliver the message God gives to us is all that is important in the matter, and it accomplishes HIS purpose.

(Comments by Joan Boney ... The message is the power.  One time a friend of mine had been asked to read the Bible scriptures for their church gatherings on Sunday mornings.  Jimmy practiced speaking these scriptures and considered his voice quality.  But the power is not in the way Jimmy presents the scriptures.  The power is the scriptures.)

Ephesians 6 ... Reading through the Bible

1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord:for this is right. 

2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) 3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
 

4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath:but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
 

5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; 6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; 7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:8 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
 

9 And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening:knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.

Psalm 26 ... Prayers to God & Promises from God to the Church

1 Judge me, O Lord; for I have walked in mine integrity:
 

I have trusted also in the Lord; therefore I shall not slide.
 

2 Examine me, O Lord, and prove me;
try my reins and my heart.
 

3 For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes:
and I have walked in Thy truth.
 

4 I have not sat with vain persons,
neither will I go in with dissemblers.
5 I have hated the congregation of evil doers;
and will not sit with the wicked.
 

6 I will wash mine hands in innocency:
so will I compass thine altar, O Lord:
7 That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving,
and tell of all Thy wondrous works.
 

8 Lord, I have loved the habitation of thy house,
and the place where thine honour dwelleth.
 

9 Gather not my soul with sinners,
nor my life with bloody men:
10 In whose hands is mischief,
and their right hand is full of bribes.
 

11 But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity:
redeem me, and be merciful unto me.

Psalm 25 ...  4 I have not sat with vain persons,

vain persons:  those persons having or showing an excessively high opinion of their own appearance, abilities or worth, thus producing "evil fruits" / useless works / works of no real results 
( vain images which seem important without real substance)


Secular things may seem exciting at first but I find I quickly bore of them and want to return to things of God.

When I am with a vain person, I find I am often shaken by his/her statements of vanity.  I want to flee that person.

Vain persons in the church congregation are even worse to me.  

Why do we see the vanity?  Vanity happens when humans trust in themselves.

True fruits happen when we abide in the Word of God and exalt the Word of God and delight in the Word of God.

So if I find myself in vanity, I have to deliberately put it away from me and choose to return to the Word of God.

Jn. 15 ... Jesus says ...  1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away:and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 

4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches:He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit:for without me ye can do nothing. 

6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

When we feel a little "dead" and "fruitless", verse 6 explains what has happened.

When we return to Bible life starts to come back into us.  When we focus on the world and things of this world and delight in such we begin to feel dead.

We have therefore before us life and death.  We have the way of life and the way of death.

I Cor. 15 ... 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (THE WORD).
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

In Psalm 25, David says he will not sit in the congregation "of evil doers" ... with the "wicked"

 4 I have not sat with vain persons,
neither will I go in with dissemblers.
5 I have hated the congregation of evil doers;
and will not sit with the wicked.



Wicked is defined as:  evil or morally wrong ...

By the Bible, we know the "wicked" are the fornicators, the adulterers, the drunkards, the lesbians & homosexuals, the covetous, the idolaters, the extortioners and such.

If these are in the church group, Paul tells us to put such a person out of the church.

I Cor. 5 ...   11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? 13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.


I Cor. 6 ... 9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived:neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you:but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Jesus said to the woman taken in adultery:  "Go, and sin no more."  (Jn. 8)

If we say we know God and continue in that sin, it is an extremely bad situation.  We are told this is crucifying Jesus afresh and is like that dog that returns to his own vomit.  It is a terrible thing and will bring terrible judgments upon persons who do this.  If we see a "brother" (one who is called a Christian) do these sins after he becomes a Christian and knows such are sins, we must not choose to eat with him ... a little leaven leavens the whole lump (I Cor. 5) ... we will be hurt if we continue with him.

Heb. 10 ... 26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28 He that despised Moses 'law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

II Peter 2 ... 20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

I don't sit with Christians who do these evils.  I just walk away from them as Paul said to do.

I can't help such persons and I know I can be hurt by them.

And what about those in the world who do these sins.  Usually I find they do not choose to be around me for when they are around me they smell "death" (their own death) and they are troubled.  They usually avoid me and even flee from me so they are not a real problem to me (usually) when they are of the world.

The people of the church are another matter.  They are a very big problem to me when they continue in sin.  I am grieved by their words.  I am troubled by them.  I find I can't go forward in things of God because of the concern for them.  I have to put such away and go on.  There will never be peace by trying to be around such.  And I can't read the Bible and exhort the church when I am disturbed by sinners in the church.  So I do what Paul said to do in I Cor. 5.

When we sit down to read the Bible ... when we gather with the church ... we must do such "in innocency", having a pure heart ... 

I never go to a person or a church group looking for evil or expecting evil.  But if I see evil I flee.  I can't sit among them.

I work very hard to keep my heart pure so I can read the Word of God in a pure way.  I can't live disturbed by unrepentant church people and live in peace.  And I must keep myself in peace to go forward in ways of God and to speak of HIS "wondrous works".

Mischief is an interesting word ... meaning ... Playful misbehavior or troublemaking ... Seems fairly innocent but this is deception.

Often TV characters seem relatively harmless in their teasing or mocking way.  But is this cleverness a way of God?  Or is this way something that appeals to our flesh and exalts flesh?

The way of God is to make ourselves of no reputation ... to lay down our life to serve God ... the way of the cross ... 

The way of man draws man to himself.  Whether we see this in real life or on TV, it is a lure when they seem relatively harmless as they go in a way not of God.  (And on TV we can be pretty certain their way is not of God but we who are of God can recognize it if we are willing to see.)

Romans 1 ...   28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

A dangerous way for us to go ...

I Jn. 5 ... 19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.





 

Elijah: Hidden after delivering message to Ahab ... Prophets: Their works ...

I Kings 17 ... 1 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word. 2 And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, 3 Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

The apostle Paul had been well known among the Pharisees, excelling in the laws and persecuting Christians even unto death.  Then Paul changed sides and was preaching Jesus whom he had been persecuting.  Paul would go into the synagogues and preach Jesus.  This was very dangerous!

At one point God told Paul to flee.

Acts 22 ... 17 And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance; 18 And saw Him saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem:for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me. 19 And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:20 And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him. 21 And He said unto me, Depart:for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.

In 1980-82 I was on radio in USA, coast to coast.  I was very popular.  God had given me messages concerning dealing with destructive thoughts and following God.  People wanted to hear these messages.

Then in 82, God said to me:  The foundation is laid.  Now we're really going to move.

Shortly after hearing that, I began hearing the following, over and over:  The time is come that judgment must being at the house of God ... The time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God... The time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God...

Shortly after that, God called my attention to sins being committed by various big time ministers ... Jimmy Swaggart, Jim Bakker, and others ... and I tried to get messages to these ministers.  (At that time their sins had not been made public as they were later.)

But these ministers put safeguards around them so no one could get a message to them ... 

So I just began speaking the message on my own radio broadcasts, naming the minister by name on the radio and telling of the wrong doing.

Hate mail poured in to our post office box in Dallas.  I had been led when I started radio to unlist my telephone number.  Therefore no one knew where I lived and they couldn't get to me personally.  But I was going out to have meetings with radio audience at that time.  Then God gave me a dream warning me and instructing me:  In the dream, I was shown I had switched sides (much as Paul had done) and the side I had once been on would really hurt me and I heard these words in the dream:  "Don't go until you see Exodus 15."  I cancelled all meetings which were planned for 1982.  I also cancelled 2 TV talk shows.  I did not go out at all.  I just stayed at my apartment and continued making radio broadcasts.

I was also reminded of the following words of Jesus:  Jn. 16 ... They shall put you out of the synagogues:yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. 3 And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

During that time, I knew if they could, the church people would kill me.

So I just didn't go out among them.

I Kings 17 ...  2 And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, 3 Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. 4 And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there. 5 So he went and did according unto the word of the Lord:for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. 6 And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.

At one point, I heard the following word ... "Remember Elijah and the ravens ... don't forget."

II Kings 9 ...  1 And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramothgilead:2 And when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber; 3 Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus saith the Lord, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not.
 

4 So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramothgilead. 

5 And when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to thee, O captain. 

And Jehu said, Unto which of all us? 

And he said, To thee, O captain. 

6 And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I have anointed thee king over the people of the Lord, even over Israel. 7 And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the Lord, at the hand of Jezebel. 8 For the whole house of Ahab shall perish:and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel:9 And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah:10 And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door, and fled.
 

11 Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord:and one said unto him, Is all well? wherefore came this mad fellow to thee? 

And he said unto them, Ye know the man, and his communication. 

12 And they said, It is false; tell us now

And he said, Thus and thus spake he to me, saying, Thus saith the Lord, I have anointed thee king over Israel. 

13 Then they hasted, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king. 14 So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram.

Ephesians 5 ... Reading through the Bible

1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 

2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
 

3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; 4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient:but rather giving of thanks. 

5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 

6 Let no man deceive you with vain words:for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. 

7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
 

8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord:

walk as children of light:

9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. 

11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. 

13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light:for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. 14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
 

15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
 

17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. 

18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; 19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; 20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
 

22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church:and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
 

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery:but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
