Examine yourself: Is the Spirit of God in you?

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

One way for us to know if the Spirit of God is in us is this:

Do we suffer as a result of the Word of God?  Do we suffer when we see people going in a way opposite to the Word?  Do we suffer when we hear humans speak things opposite to the word?

Romans 8 ... The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him.

Lot suffered as he lived in a city where there was much wickedness.  Lot saw their wicked acts.  Lot heard their wicked speaking.

And what is wicked?  It is any thing opposite to the way of God.

Recently I was speaking with a woman and she began to praise a group of people.  I had no idea who those people were she was praising.  I was grieved over her words.  I was reminded of the following:

Psa. 49 ... 6They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; 7None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: 8(For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:) 9That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption. 10For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others. 11Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.  12Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.

13This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.  14Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.

15But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

16Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased; 17For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him. 18Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.  19He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.  20Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

I turn on the TV and I end up suffering, grieving over what I see and hear for it is opposite to what people should be doing ... opposite to the godly way of Christ.

Like Lot, I suffer when I see and hear them.

II Peter 2 ... 7And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: 8(For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

When we have the Holy Spirit in us, we will be vexed with the unrighteous deeds of people of this world.  We will groan over what we see and what we hear on TV.  We will quickly mute the sound so we do not have to hear what they say.  We will turn the picture off so we do not have to see them do what they do.

If we go through this suffering, we can believe the Holy Spirit is in us.

II Cor. 2 ... for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

We suffer with HIM when we grieve over those sins of this world.

Before I was born again I did not grieve over the sins of this world.  I enjoyed the sins of this world.

But after I was born again, I grieved over the sins of this world.  And I still do such.

This is evidence of the Spirit of God being in us when we grieve over sins.
