The whole world lies in wickedness ... but we overcome by the Spirit of God

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

I Jn. 5 ,,, 18We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. 19And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. 20And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. 21Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

I Jn. 4 ... 4Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 5They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. 6We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

As this world grows greater in open wickedness, we see the sign of the end ... Jesus said we know the season when we see the leaves on the trees as they begin to appear.  Wickedness is the same.  Open wickedness is like those leaves on the trees which show us the season.  As the wickedness increases, the judgment draws nearer.

But we are of God.  And God has not appointed us to wrath.  I Thess. 5  So God will do something to help us.

I try not to look on their wickedness.  But I am very aware of how it is flaunted.  Even the commercials on TV are more brazen.  That is because wickedness today is strongly approved in society.  And it will increase.   This is to be expected.  It will not get better but worse according to the apostle Paul.  This scripture is inspired by God as are all scriptures and show us what to expect.

II Tim. 3 ... 12Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

When we try to follow God and do things as we believe God has shown us we will be persecuted by those who follow men. They mock us, make fun of us, avoid us.  This shows us we are of God and therefore Peter tells us to rejoice because of this persecution.  (I Peter 4)   It is hard because most of the persecution will come from those who call themselves Christians but they are not born of the Spirit of God.  Therefore they cannot understand things of God.  We should not allow ourselves to be discouraged over this.  In the Bible, we are told to expect such to happen when we try to follow God.  (I Peter 4)

13But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

In Paul's day, there would many problems in the early church.  We know this because Paul said he knew when he was gone men in the church would rise up and present perversions.  (Acts 20)  John said in his day there were already many antichrist among the church groups.  (I Jn. 2)

Paul said it would get worse and in the latter days, "perilious times" would come for they would look godly, have an appearance of godliness but they would not be godly.  II Tim. 3

And Paul tell us what to do.

14But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

We speak truth to those who are going opposite to the word of God when God gives us a mouth to speak.

Then we work out our own salvation as Paul said to do.  Phil. 2   There are some people I avoid.  There are others that I pray for God to remove from me for they are like thorns and thistles, puncturing me with their words.  In each case, these people identify themselves as being Christians.

But in all things, we know the Spirit in us is greater than the Spirit that is in them and that Spirit will keep us in the ways of God.  Though we suffer because of their words and their way, we rejoice because of the Spirit given us by God.
