Divorce/remarriage: Many wrongly divide God's word on this subject

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Concerning divorce and remarriage, Jesus said:

Mt. 5:32 ... But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

Many church groups (and their ministers) twist the above scripture saying that if the husband commits fornication then the wife can divorce him and remarry.

This is not at all that which Jesus said.  Look again at that which Jesus said.

- First, Jesus was speaking to the men and he was saying, "If you divorce a faithful wife, you will cause that faithful wife to commit adultery if she remarries."

- Second, Jesus tells the men:  And the man who marries that divorced woman commits adultery.

Paul says to the NT church that the following is a commandment of the Lord ...

I Cor. 7:And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: 11But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

I Cor. 7 ... 12But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away. 13And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.

In this Paul is showing that the believer is to live as a believer doing those things shown by the Holy Spirit ... then if the unbelieving mate is still pleased to dwell with the believer allow him (her) to do so ... If the unbeliever is not pleased to dwell with the believer, let him (or her) depart.

I Cor. 7 ... 15But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

What this means is if that unbeliever is not pleased to live with the believer, as the believer refuses to go to bars and get drunk and such ... let that unbeliever depart.

In such cases, the believer is not required to do things to please that unbeliever, thus the believer is not in bondage to please the unbeliever in such cases.

Concerning divorce/remarriage, Paul says ...

I Cor. 7:37 ... The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.

Many in churches today twist this scripture by saying we are not bound by the law in the NT.  But Paul, inspired by God, was speaking to the NT church in these scriptures.  The people who would say the law does not apply to us today are wrongly dividing scripture.

Romans 7 ... Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? 2For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. 3So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

These are scriptures inspired by God HIMSELF and given to Paul for the NT church.  So this is what we in the NT church go by.

If a person twists the scriptures another way, they present another "gospel" ... and they become "accursed" when they do such.

Gal. 1 ... I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Do not stay in church groups where they pervert the scriptures.
