What would Jesus do?

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

A few years ago, there was a church movement which tried to get their followers to think  "What would Jesus do?" in making decisions.

This is a very fleshly approach to what we do when we follow the Spirit of God for the Spirit of God searches the heart of God to reveal the will of God to us as we go through life.

What Jesus would do is this:  Jesus always heard the will of God, the Father, and did that.

We do exactly the same thing as we follow the Spirit of God.

But we do this by the Spirit and not by the flesh.  We are not trying to figure out what Jesus would do by our fleshly reasonings.  Rather we know what Jesus would have done because we know Jesus heard from God and followed God.  We do exactly the same thing today by the Spirit.

4 things the Spirit of God in us does:

- guides us into all truth (Jn. 14:26)
- brings to our mind that which Jesus says to us (Jn. 14:26)
- teaches us all things (Jn. 16:13)
- shows us things to come  (Jn. 16:13)

How does the Spirit of God show us these things ... mostly by bringing thoughts to our mind, thereby showing us the will of God in the matter.

Not every thought we have is from God.  The devil also sends thoughts.  However, most of the time we can tell the difference between the voice of the Holy Spirit and the thoughts sent by the devil.  But if in doubt, we can try the spirit to see if it is from God.
