Psalm 118:22-23 ... The stone which the builders refused is become
the head stone of the corner. 23 This is the Lord 's doing; it is
marvellous in our eyes.
Exhortation: Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
Many looked for ways to prove Jesus wrong. Even today that happens.
To those who lived when Jesus walked on the earth in the flesh, Jesus didn't seem to fit the scriptures which told of the coming Messiah.
The Messiah would be born of a virgin ... Jesus was the son of Joseph and Mary. He looked like all others who were born of natural parents. But HE wasn't.
The Messiah was to be born in Bethlehem ... But Jesus came from Galilee. This gave many reason not to believe.
Jn. 7 ... 37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) 40Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet. 41Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee? 42Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was? 43So there was a division among the people because of him.
So they found a way not to believe. But their way was not true. But they thought it was true. Jesus did come out of Galiee. But Jesus was born in Bethlehem.
One time I was trying to prove a doctrine to another person. I had many scriptures which proved the doctrine but there was one scripture which I knew could cause the person to doubt the other scriptures. I said to God, "But for that one scripture I would have solid proof." And I heard, "That one scripture gives them an opportunity not to believe."
The cornerstone is rejected by many ... but the cornerstone is truly the "head" and we who believe in HIM (those to whom Jesus is revealed by God) rejoice when we see HIM in various parts of our life.
Mt. 16 ... 13When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
When God opens our eyes, we see. Then everything changes immediately. We are born again. As Paul was changed on the road to Damascus, we who are of God are changed by God when HE opens our eyes to see things of God and gives us HIS Spirit that we can see things of God. Then we are born again, a new creature.
We cannot give this to ourselves. No man can give this to us. Salvation is from God who opens our eyes to see.
