They are currently
putting a new roof on my house. One of the owners of the roofing
company identified himself as a Christian. Several times he has sat and
talked to me about things of God. This past week, we spent at least 2
hours talking. He said he doesn't know any Bible.
Here is a letter I wrote him.

Craig: When we spoke Friday, I told you many things about things
written in Bible. Here are those exact scriptures so you can see them.

Concerning the end of this world and the coming of Jesus:
Mt. 24 … Jesus said … Immediately
after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the
moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and
the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30And then shall appear
the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of
the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds
of heaven with power and great glory. 31And he shall send his angels
with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his
elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Concerning heaven and our life there:
Mt. 22 …Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. 30For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
Concerning the Bible:
II Tim. 3 … All scripture is given by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness: 17That the man of God may be perfect,
throughly furnished unto all good works.
A friend of mine in Dallas years ago told me this story: Treasury
agents who deal with counterfeit money do not study the counterfeit
bill. They study the real bill. Then when the counterfeit comes along
they can recognize it because they know what the real thing looks like.
I
know the counterfeit doctrines in the churches because I know the
Bible, having continually read it daily for the past 30+ years. And
because I have the Spirit of God in me to show me truth.
If you want the pure thing instead of the opinion of men, the Bible is the answer for you. (You might start by reading a chapter a day in New Testament)
For us, everything is measured by: “Where is that in the Bible?”
